NECA Toys Toony Terrors Bride Of Chucky – Tiffany & Chucky Figures Review

NECA Toys is now offering their Toony Terrors Bride Of Chucky – Tiffany & Chucky Figures, which is part of the second wave that includes Pinhead (Hellraiser), Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and Michael Myers (Halloween 2). Also just announced was Ash Williams, The Nun and Count Orlok that are coming next year. These figures are 6″ scaled and have limited amount of articulation, and are meant to look like they’re from an animated series as opposed to a live-action horror film. Chucky includes a knife, and Tiffany includes a cigarette, and the knife in Chucky’s hand is removable.

This new figure style is an animated take on some of the most iconic horror film characters in cinematic history, and judging from the style it is assumed that the inspiration for these cartoony takes comes from classic cartoons, and is a fresh take on these characters that has never been offered like this before. This wave covers three more film franchises offered in this style and takes off where series 1 left off, and this new style is less frightening in appearance, brighter colors and they even appear not as notorious killers, but as monsters that won’t give you nightmares.

Thank you to NECA Toys for providing their Toony Terrors Bride Of Chucky – Tiffany and Chucky Figures for review.

Availability: November 2019

The Toony Terror figures are packaged on a blister card packaging with a bonus cutout backdrop that are based on their film. Just like the figures, the backdrops are also animated inspired and can be used for display behind the figures as shown in the gallery.

Chucky and Tiffany are inspired in a cartoony appearance and based on 1998’s Bride of Chucky movie. Chucky features stitches throughout the sculpt, including on his head, chest and buttocks, with his intestines (or cracks in the body) all in black and the stitches in light grey on the front, and blue on the back. He is sculpted in his blue overalls, with a light blue, pink, and green striped shirt underneath, red and white shoes, and red buttons. His head sculpt is nicely done and he includes his red hair, with individually textured strains, and nicely done facial includes including his eyes, nose and mouth.  Chucky is also challenging to stand on his own, and this is mostly due to the fact that his left foot is sculpted with a curve, meaning his heel is up and his toes are down. We found it best to have his arms pointing upward to help balance him. Chuck’s right hand is used to insert the knife into, which works well and the knife has a black handle and a light blue blade that matches one of the colors of his stripes.

Tiffany is sculpted in her white dress, black leather jacket with a black belt and white buttons, Her dress includes folds that gives it a realistic look, and instead of legs or feet at the bottom the designers gave her a flat base as shown in the gallery. Tiffany has a cigarette that is sculpted to her right hand, and cannot be removed as we previously weren’t sure about after seeing her on display at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. Her head sculpt is a great animated and fun likeness, with blonde hair, and nicely done facial details, including her eyes and mouth. She even has a black

Both figures have swivel heads, and swivel arms.

Overall, the Toony Terrors are great figures and have excellent sculpts with a friendly cartoon appearance. Fans of these characters that want something new should definitely look to pick these up.
