Disney: Infinity was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness.

These figures are packaged on the standard blister card, and the back shows new releases of C-3PO, R2D2, Sith Trooper, Rey, Kylo Ren, and the upcoming announcement of the Darth Maul figure.

C-3PO and R2-D2 are offered as a set and nearly complete the core hero cast of Star Wars: A New Hope. At this time, only Obi-Wan is missing from the collection, and he will most likely be released at some point down the road. This set gives you the Disney: Infinity versions the the characters, and C-3PO comes in his all gold droid armor as he originally appeared. It’s possible that he will see several more releases, such as the silver right leg, and left red arm that he was seen with in the franchise, and those would fit in with the Star Wars ToyBox line perfectly. This version however is all gold, with a shiny metallic finish, exposed wiring with light blue and pink wires around his waist, yellow eye sockets with black eyes. The figure has some sculpted details, such as the chest plate circular piece, upper back, details on the arms, and the great head sculpt with the front of the head beveled inward.

C-3PO’s articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, and hinged-swivel knees, swivel-hinged ankles.

R2D2 is the first astromech from the Original Trilogy, but as you know BB-8 came first last year. R2D2 comes with his metallic silver and blue dome head that also has the lights and details as seen in the films, The body is mostly white with sculpted lines and patterns, including blue and silver metallic deco on the front and back, as well as blue on the legs. The body does not have the tools that he used to hack into the servers on the Imperial base and Death Star. That feature would have been great to have with this figure, but at the same time it’s been done in the 3 3/4″ scale so we can live without it. The legs are on swivel joints, and the front leg can be pressed in to extend, and again to shorten the length to allow this leg to match the height of the legs on the sides. The head can also swivel around, and lets not forget to mention that the feet have wheels on the bottom allowing him to roll across the floor.

The Sith Trooper is a trending character right now, so it makes sense he’s offered in the Toy Box line for this year. What is shocking however is that Disney has not done an Original Trilogy Stormtrooper figure to go along with the TIE Pilot, but hopefully we’ll see one soon. The Sith Trooper has some of the best sculpted details in the line that we’ve seen in awhile, such as sculpted lines that give it a texture throughout the sculpt. The head sculpt is nicely done and he has the First Order design such as how the black visor in the front is sculpted, and some of the same sculpted details that other parts of the armor has. Just like other Stormtroopers, he has black deco on where the joints move. The detail on the armor is nicely done, such as the chest, back and belt. Included is a blaster that is painted in red, black and silver, and he can hold it in one or two hands.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, and swivel-hinged ankles.

Overall, C-3PO, R2D2 and the Sith Trooper are excellent figures that are worthy of your Toy Box collection. You should definitely look to pick this up now at the Disney Store.
