NECA Toys Alien & Predator Classics Berserker & Neomorph Figures Review

NECA Toys is offering new retro inspired Predator and Alien figures that were made by Kenner back in the 1990’s, and this line is nostalgic to anyone that had collected and played withe figures from back then. The first figures in this line is the Berserker Predator and Neomorph Alien figures, which were not part of the Kenner line in the early 1990’s. Berserker Predator was introduced in the 2010 film Predators, and the Neomorph Alien was introduced in the Alien: Convenant movie in 2017. Since neither of these characters were offered in the Kenner line, fans will have the ability to include new characters to their old collections done in a style that they had growing up.

Thank you to NECA Toys for providing their Alien & Predator Classics Berserker & Neomorph figures for review.

Availability: November 2019

The Alien & Predator Classics Berserker and Neomorph figures are packaged on vintage style blister cards that are inspired by the Kenner line. The front of the packaging includes artwork of the characters, and the back includes product images of 7″ scale NECA figures, whereas the Kenner packaging had images of the figures that were available on that time.

The Berserker Predator and Neomorpth Alien figures are inspired from the classic Kenner figures of the early 1990’s and bring back action features and this particular style that you would recall having when you were younger.

Berserker is sculpted and painted in a light and dark grey skin tone, with metallic brown armor that has a shine to it, black belt and clothing around his waist, and a black strap over his chest that is connected to several pieces of armor, The upper left hand side of his chest has some added paint to it to show off his warrior clan, which is painted in dark grey and red deco. The gauntlets on his forearms include some nicely done details, and the right one has a groove in it to insert his blade. His head sculpt is nicely done with the grey skin tone, and what is added is additional detail on his forehead that is painted in red and part of his alien physiology. His mouth is sculpted open and you can see his fangs and intestines, and his eyes are painted red with yellow pupils. The hair is painted in black, with the bottom portion painted in red, and the two colors blend in nicely where they meet.

Included with Berserker Predator is his mask, a shoulder mounted cannon with firing projectile, and the blade for his forearm. The figure includes 5 points of articulation just like Kenner had done in the early 1990’s.

Neomorph Alien is painted mostly in white with a pink wash over it throughout the sculpt. Just like some of the Alien figures that Kenner had made, his legs and arms are bent so he can only walk on three of his legs, while the front right leg is sculpted up and reaching out in front. This leg also activates his action feature by pressing down, which his mouth then springs out. The jaw is hinged, and you can open and close it. The sculpt includes some nicely done details, especially the spikes on his back, ribs showing through on his chest, and nicely done facial details done on the on the head, especially the teeth. He also has five points of articulation, and we’re including the hinged jaw as the fifth point as the head cannot move.

Included with Neomorph is a tiny version of the character that is non-articulated, but painted and designed similar to the adult version.

Overall, the Berserker Predator and Neomorph Alien figures feature great sculpts with great likenesses, and are great representations to how they would have looked like if Kenner had made these characters in the early 1990’s. These figures are available in stores now, as well as at our valued sponsors and partners below:
