Rust Lord pays homage to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Star-Lord, who makes a living by salvaging items and selling them for profit. Rust Lord also wears a pin on his shirt with the logo for Unreal Engine, the game engine used in Fortnite.
Rust-Lord is shipping along with Peely, which you can check out the review HERE.
Thank you to Jazwares for sending along their Fortnite 6″ Legendary Series Star-Lord figure for review.
Availability: December 2019
Each figure is packaged on a window box with a blister card in the back. The window is seen on the front and sides and shows Havoc, his accessories, and around it is artwork including logos, character design from the game, and the back showcases the character with others below him.
Rust Lord has a military type aspect to him just like Jonsey, and this type of figure is filling in a void right now for 6-7″ scale military scale action figures, including that brand that everyone seems to think will be announced at this years New York ToyFair, which we will have to wait and see. This line however is much needed not only for collectors that like the scale, but for the wide-range of characters introduced, which is bringing people, both kids and adults in the brand only because they like the figures. Rust Lord does a really good job in bringing in that military 6″ figure vibe that has been missing in mass market, and fits in great with the current collection.
Rust Lord includes some shared parts previously seen, and newly tooled parts that are unique to this character. He comes in his light brown leather jacket with a symbol in metallic gold on the upper left side of his chest and light green deco on the back, a blue scarf, black strap around his torso with spikes, a blue ribbon on his right elbow, black gloves, a chest harness, green camouflage pants, two black belts around his waist with a pouch on the right side, a patch with stitches on the left knee, straps with a pouch on the right knee, gold and black shin guards over the knees, foot bracelets, and black boots.
Rust Lord’s head sculpt is helmeted, and this cannot be removed as his identity in the game is unknown. This includes a green helmet with a red stripe on top, a metallic silver visor with holes in the front, and the visor also has a red symbol on the side of it. The visor also cannot be lifted up, as it is part of the sculpt.
The articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, hinged fingers, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes.
Rust Lord includes a Sawtooth harvesting tool, Rust Bucket back bling, Pump Shotgun, Scoped Revolver, a Shadow Bomb, a Mushroom and Large Shield Potion consumables.
Overall, Rust Lord is an excellent figure and a great character to add to your collection. The overall design is astonishing and this is one of the best military type figures offered in this line. Jazwares continues to offer such great Fortnite characters and the quality of the figures are superb. What is also great about this line is that collectors have been buying these just because these are great toys, even if they never played the Fortnite game. Get going and start supporting this line, and you can these now at the stores listed below:
