Hasbro Marvel Legends X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse X-Man Figure Review

Marvel in the 1990’s was the best decade for the brand in my personal opinion, with some unique and very compelling X-Men storylines such as Days of Future Past, Age of Apocalypse, and of course Jim Lee breaking boundary’s in 1991 when he launched X-Men #1. Let’s not forget that X-Men 1992 animated series that many of us reading this right now grew up watching. It was a great time to be a fan and these stories remain timeless in the hearts and souls of the fanbase.

X-Man, also called Nathaniel Grey, was artificially created by Mr. Sinister using DNA from Scott Summers and Jean Grey. X-Man escaped Mr. Sinister with the help of Scott Summers and joined Forge and several other mutant outcasts. Forge began the long process of teaching Nate how to control his powers as well as the benefits of being a “good guy”. Nate also began to see the horrors of Apocalypse’s world firsthand, and was determined to bring him down

X-Men: Age of Apocalypse has had some figures in the past from Toybiz in the 1990’s, Toybiz Marvel Legends, and even Hasbro offered AOA Sunfire as a HTS exclusive. Jumping ahead, this storyline is finally getting the recognition it deserves and we have a full wave of figures to check out, including a Sugar Man Build-A-Figure joining the line. It’s a good time to be a fan again and 90’s Marvel lives on again in toy form!

X-Man is packaged in the standard single carded packaging with artwork and logo’s on the front, sides, and on the back is an image of the figure, a brief bio, and images of the rest of the wave, including Sugar Man.

X-Man joins the Age of Apocalypse line by Hasbro and is surely one figure that you don’t want to miss out on given his popularity in the comics, especially back in the mid-1990’s. X-Man comes in his blue and yellow outfit, with yellow stripes on his forearms and thighs, yellow cuffs, a yellow belt, knee pads, zipper portion of the jacket and the upper part of his shirt. It would appear as if X-Man uses a lot of new tooling, with the exception of the upper and lower legs, as they are shared with figures like Havoc and AOA Sunfire, and new knee pads. His head sculpt is excellent, and includes the physic effect piece on his left eye that is non-removable. The hair is painted in brown and white, and the facial details look excellent.

X-Man includes two arms to build Sugar Man, and we highlighted his articulation in the video.

Overall, X-Man is a great figure that fans will absolutely will be happy with. The attention to detail and character likeness is great to the source material, so make sure to grab him and others in the wave and build that Sugar Man figure!
