The figures are inspired from the 1991-1992 Back to the Future Animated Series, and NECA has done an incredible job capturing this iconic look and bringing it to plastic form for the first-time. This line is similar to their popular Toony Terrors line, but instead you get a line that is actually based on an animated series.
Marty comes in his red and yellow jacket that has black lines painted on to give it definition, blue jeans, red and white shoes, a white tee shirt, and a watch on his left wrist. The head sculpt has a great likeness to the series, with brown hair and nicely done facial details.
The arms are sculpted apart so he has balance as he rides the hoverboard, which is also included and comes with an acrylic stand. The hoverboard is painted in pink and blue, with black lines giving it definition. Marty also includes a guitar that has a soft plastic strap, and an interchangeable hand sculpt to hold it.
Doc Brown comes in his white lab coat, with pens in the mouth, green pants, brown shoes, and a purple shirt, all with the black lines giving it definition. His head sculpt looks great, and he has long white hair as seen in the series, and nicely done facial details. There are also watches on both of his wrists, and its the same watch that Marty has.
Doc Brown also comes with glasses, a remote control, and interchangeable hand sculpts to hold the remote.
Einstein, Doc’s dog, is packaged with him as an added bonus, and also features a great likeness. The paint applications are excellent, with the yellow and grey fur, and a nicely sculpted head sculpt with an open mouth. He has more of a PVC figure as he has a swivel head, as the rest of the body doesn’t move. Einstein comes with his collar that fits over his head.
Bif is the tallest figure in the wave, and comes in an orange and yellow shirt, with a white undershirt, brown shorts, yellow, black and white shoes. The figure is nicely detailed with an incredible likeness. His head sculpt includes a long neck, brown hair that is flat, yellow teeth, and nicely done facial details. Bif comes with an interchangeable head sculpt.
In the video, we take a look at their articulation and a closer look at the accessories.
Overall, NECA has done an amazing job on these figures and i’m hoping for a DeLorean in this scale and line. Fans are surely going to love these, and its such a great time for BTTF with all of these new figures coming out!
