NECA Toys is bringing The Creep to their Ultimate horror line-up, and this figure is inspired from the new Creepshow television series. The Creep is the host of the show, with each episode containing several short stories. The new Creepshow series is inspired from the classic 80’s series, and The Creep has about 25 points of articulation, and features a fabric cloak, a comic book, a lantern, and a skull.
While NECA holds the license to make this version of The Creep, and anything seems to be possible for more figures from this series, and hopefully the figures based on the 80’s series. For more details, check out our Interview with Randy Falk on this line and more.
Thank you to NECA Toys for providing their Creepshow TV Series – The Creep 7″ Scale Figure for review.
Availability: September 2020
The Creep is packaged in a window box with artwork featuring him as he appears in the comic as seen in the television series, which also includes the Creepshow logo on the front, sides and back. Also on the back is an image of him, and a description. The Creep is packaged in a plastic tray along with his accessories.
The Creep joins NECA’s horror line-up of Ultimate style figures, which includes more articulation and great attention to detail. The Creep is based on the new Creepshow television series that first aired in 2019, and he comes in a fully sculpted and painted figure. His appearance looks zombified, and NECA’s designers have done a fantastic job bringing his on-screen appearance to life with this figure. He is sculpted with some great details, especially his head sculpt that includes rooted hair, and nicely done facial details that make him look realistic. Most of the body is covered by the fabric cloak, which includes a paint wash over it, two strings hanging down, and the front of it is hand stitched so the only way to remove it is by sliding it down the body. The hood of the cloak is wired, allowing you to customize the look, as well as lowering it behind his head.
The figure is also fully articulated, including a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, double hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Included with the Creep is a skull, a lantern, a comic and an interchangeable left hand to hold the lantern. The comic is nicely done and looks just like it does it does in the series, with nicely done panels, and too small lettering to read on the inside.
Overall, The Creep is an excellent figure and a great addition to the Ultimate line. The attention to detail on the body, cloak and accessories are all nicely done, and he will make a great addition to your collection.
