S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Chi-Chi Figure Review

Bandai Tamashii Nations continues their popular S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball line with another core character from the show that you need to add to your collection, and it’s none other than Chi Chi. We recently took a look at Bulma’s Bike, which speaks volumes of the quality and attention to detail we’ve been seeing in this line, and Chi Chi finally joins the line this year. Chi Chi includes three face pieces, three let hands, two right hands and the two star dragon ball.

Thank you to Bluefin for providing the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Chi Chi figure for review.

Availability: October 2020

Chi Chi is packaged on the standard window box for the line, and is placed inside a brown mailer box. The packaging includes nicely done artwork and images of the figure on the front, sides and back.

Chi Chi stands at almost 4 1/2″ tall with the top of the head piece is connected to the helmet, and she is inspired from how she appears in the anime series. Chi Chi’s helmet is attached to her head, which splits apart to place one of the new facial pieces on. The front of her hair is sculpted to look like it’s under the helmet, which is shown on the front with bands, in the back, and if you split the helmet off, you’re going to see more of her hair underneath. If you remove the back piece of the helmet, her hair is sculpted as a separate piece. The helmet is painted in pink, black with white trim, and the removable throwing piece on the helmet is painted in white. Her outfit is painted in blue, pink, with white trim, with most of her skin showing. Her cape is made of a soft plastic, and is not removable.

She includes four interchangeable facial pieces with each given a unique expression as seen in the series. Each piece is inserted by splitting the helmet apart, and inserting it behind the hair. Each expression is nicely done and includes three open mouth pieces, and one closed mouth.

The top of her helmet is removable and she is meant to throw it, and the acrylic figure stand can be used to hold it to give it a throwing effect. The stand can also be used to hold her in place, and the clip goes around her waist.

She also includes 7 interchangeable hand sculpts, and the two star dragon ball that she can hold.

Her articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed-swivel and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, ball jointed wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, ball joined ankles, and hinged toes.

Overall, the S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Chi Chi figure by Tamashii Nations is an excellent and beautiful offering that every Dragon Ball fan should buy, She features a great likeness to the series and comes in the same quality and attention to detail as other figures offered in the line. Chi Chi is surely a must-buy especially if you’ve been buying each and every release in this line, and she is definitely a welcome addition to the line.
