Even the Gremlins are getting in on the holiday season, with NECA’s latest release of the Santa Stripe and Gizmo figures coming as a Target exclusive in the U.S., and you can also find him at Zavvi U.K. for international fans. The Santa Stripe Gremlin pays tribute to the classic advertising campaign for the film. The Santa Stripe Gremlin joins the Summer Games Gremlin, and Back To School Gremlin, which were all based on advertising campaigns for the film.

The Santa Stripe and Gizmo figure are packaged in a window box with an opening flap, with nicely done artwork on the front, logo’s on the sides, and images of the figures on the back in a holiday setting.
The Santa Stripe uses the Ultimate Stripes figure sculpt with all that great attention to detail and likeness that fans are used too, with sculpted textures as the skin tone, and that great head sculpt with a hinged jaw. Every aspect about this figure is perfect, and what sets him apart from the rest is the santa suit and hat made special for this release. The santa suit and hat is removable and includes fabric cloth and velcro holding it in place. The santa hat and beard are one piece, and can be removed easily. The hat also doesn’t get in the way of the articulation in the ears. The attention to detail on the suit and fits nicely over the figure. The suit also doesn’t get in the way of his articulation, so you have the full range of motion as seen on the Ultimate Stripe sculpt.
Gizmo is a great addition in this offering, and includes a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders and swivel wrists. His head sculpt looks great with nicely done facial details, and he has sculpted fur and textures throughout his body.
Included is a sack made of fabric, with gold stars as part of design. There is also a gold string that you manually can tie around the sack to hold it closed, and is a nice addition. Gizmo also has a candy cane that he can hold in one or two hands, and snaps into place.
This years advertising figures are some great offerings and gives you even more great characters that you need to own especially if you’ve been buying this line.
Overall, NECA has once again created such a great look figure and the execution on him is perfect. The Santa Stripe and Gizmo figures make great additions to the line, and release just in time for the holiday season. This is surely something for the most die hard Gremlin fans that want every piece other than just the characters in the films, and if that’s you, this is definitely for you.
