Thank you to NECA Toys for providing their Predator 2 – Stalker Predator Ultimate Figure for review.

Availability: January 2021

The Stalker Predator is packaged in a window box with an opening flap, with beautiful artwork on the cover by Tristan Jones, who previously worked on Aliens and Predator comics for Dark Horse Comics. The back includes images of the figure and a description, and the opening flap also has an image of the figure. The Stalker Predator is packaged in a plastic tray along with all of his accessories. One thing you need to know is that the expanded combi stick is packaged in a way that it could break at the tips if removed from the package. One way to try to keep it from breaking is to cut the plastic tray where the ends of the combi sticks are pushed through, and carefully removing it.

The Stalker Predator features the Ultimate body, and features 30 points of articulation including double jointed knees and elbows, a ball jointed torso, and a fully articulated body. The body features the standard sculpted details and textures throughout the skin, with the fishnet pattern sculpted over it. Some parts of the armor are made of a soft plastic so that this doesn’t get in the way of the articulation. The armor is also impressive with sculpted textures, paint washes, and also given a dark grey with a metallic silver wash. The skin tone itself has a white, orange, and reddish-brown deco, and looks great.

The masked head sculpt has the same deco and sculpted details as the armor. The unmasked head sculpt is brand new that NECA created for this figure, and the facial details look great just as we’ve seen with other releases in the line.

In most cases, Predator figures comes with a shoulder mounted cannon, but this figure comes with a Plasmacaster that snaps onto the figures back, and has a removable cannon that snaps on top. This is a nice change from the usual design and is easily removed. The Stalker Predator also comes with five interchangeable hand sculpts, two smart discs, one collapsed and expanded combi sticks, a firing effect, , a skull, and a removable gauntlet that fits on his right forearm.

Overall, the Stalker Predator is an excellent figure with great attention to detail, sculpting, and a great addition to the line. The upgraded body adds a lot of articulation, and there are some really fun accessories and swap out parts that makes him a unique looking character to an already impressive line.
