Richard Simmons became famous with his weight-loss programs, aerobics videos, and classes after loosing weight himself. He is known for helping others to reach their fitness goals and change their lives, and gained an enormous following and fanbase. Last year, he even made a comeback after being retired for six years due to the pandemic, and uploaded new video’s on Youtube to encourage his fanbase to keep up with fitness during quarantine. During his career, he has made a number of television appearances, including talk shows, television series, animated series, and game shows.

Richard Simmons is packaging in a window box, with it being mostly in red, with images of him and his name, along with some additional artwork. The back also includes images with various poses.
Richard Simmons joins NECA’s 8″ Clothed figure line-up, and is based on how he looked back in the 1980’s. The figure uses the updated 3.0 body, which includes additional articulation and works great for him, as we’ve seen this body type used on other recently released figures such as Ace Ventura, John Nada and many others.
He comes in a lean and fit build, with his fingers sculpted separately. His outfit includes a real fabric red athletic tank top, red and white shorts, fabric white socks, and white sneakers with a wash that makes them look a little dirty. The clothing is also hand stitched, and is loose fitting and works great for him.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball-hinged shoulders, swivel bicep, hinted elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
He also comes with two head sculpts, each with a great likeness, and hand sculpted and painted. The facial details are nicely done, especially the one with the open mouth, as they did a great job on the paint and sculpting. The hair is the same on both figures, and is cast in black, with a brown wash.
Overall, Richard Simmons is a great figure and a great additional to the 8″ Clothed line of celebrities that NECA has been offering. This is definitely recommended for fans, NECA collectors and action figure enthusiasts.
