Hasbro Marvel Legends Deluxe The Infinity Gauntlet Thanos Figure Review

Since his appearance in the live-action film Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos has become one of the most recognized Marvel villains to the general public. But before he made it to the big screen, Thanos was well known by comic fans, and has had a ton of appearances in comic stories, animated series, video games and more. This figure comes based on The Infinity Gauntlet storyline by Marvel Comics in 1991. This series was a top seller for Marvel during its run, and remains one of the most memorable story plots of all time. It was also followed by two sequels, The Infinity War in 1992, and The Infinity Crusade in 1993. This comic book story inspired the live action Avengers movies Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Thanos is part of the new deluxe line in Marvel Legends, and you can find him and many more figures now at site sponsor Zavvi.

Availability: March 2021

Thanos is packaged in a window box, with artwork featuring the logo of the comic series The Infinity Gauntlet, images of Thanos on the sides, and a comic image of Thanos sitting on his throne, along with Death beside him on the back.

Thanos is given a modern day sculpting update and is a deluxe size figure, also referred to as a Build-A-Figure size. The figure is inspired from the 1991 The Infinity Gauntlet storyline in Marvel Comics, which is one of the most popular story arcs in Marvel’s history. Thanos is given a bulky and muscular figure sculpt as you would recall from the comics, and is painted in a blue suit that is in both light and dark, with gold armor and detail. The gloves, hip, boots, and areas on the head, chest and back. The upper armor and area around the hips are made of soft plastic, which the rest of the sculpt is made of the standard hard plastic.

This new figure of Thanos also stands out from the comic figures offered in recent years, and also stands a tiny bit taller. This comic figure however is shorter than the movie offering, and the blue and gold outfit surely stand out from what you see above.

Thanos includes four interchangeable hands, including two closed fists, a Infinity Gauntlet open hand, and a Infinity Gauntlet snapping finger hand sculpt. The two Infinity Gauntlets can be swapped with the left hand only, and each have the Infinity Stones.

He also includes a King Thanos head sculpt that is inspired from the far future in Marvel Comics, and he is given a crown, nicely done facial details, including a beard. The beard includes sculpted hair with beads, with a wrinkled face with a grin.

Overall, Thanos is given a beautiful modern day update with this release, and is a great match to the source material from The Infinity Gauntlet. Fans of this story arc will surely enjoy this figure, and he is one of the best modern day Thanos figures released at the moment.
