Jakks Pacific is offering a new wave of their popular Sonic the Hedgehog 4″ line, which is part of the 30th Anniversary offerings. This wave includes Sonic, Eggman, Mighty and Mecha Sonic and is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game by Sega.

Each figure is packaged on a blister card with artwork inspired from the video game. On the back is an image of the figure, their accessories as well as a brief description.
This wave celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, and this line-up includes characters from the first two video games. Sonic is offered as Laughing Sonic, a variant, and comes with a wide sculpted mouth with a tongue inside, to give the impression of him laughing. The head includes the hair sculpted in the back, painted closed eyes, a nose sticking out, and small pointy ears in addition to the mouth. The body is a round torso with hair sticking out the back, hands with white gloves, and sneakers, that are white and red. His fur is in a light blue, with white eyes with black lines, beige face, inside the ears, arms and stomach. His articulation includes a swivel neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel wrists, swivel-hinged knees, and ball jointed ankles. He includes a spring, which does work but it can’t actually give Sonic a boost in speed.
Mighty has a similar body design to Sonic, but is given a brand new sculpt despite looking the same at first glance. His head sculpt includes the red thick armor on top and goes down his back, and includes black fur, with funnel shaped ears, white eyes with black pupils, a long black nose, and a mouth that is drawn with a line to the side. The body is just like Sonic’s, with the left hand a close fist, and is also newly tooled. He is painted with a beige lower face, beige ears, beige arms and stomach. His gloves are white, and his sneakers are white and red, and grey on the bottom. His articulation includes a swivel neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel wrists, swivel-hinged knees, and ball jointed ankles. He includes a 1 up monitor, with a pixelated image of Sonic from the classic game.
Eggman is essentially shaped like an egg, with a small head that is domed shaped, a large mustache with sculpted textures, a small red nose, blue glasses with a white stripe. His outfit is painted mostly in red and black, with yellow on the shirt, and small white ovals on the front of the pants. His gloves are white, and sculpted open with the thumbs separate from the other fingers. His articulation includes a swivel head, swivel-hinged shoulders, ball jointed wrists, swivel-hinged hips and knees, and ball jointed ankles. He includes a goal plate with a pixelated image of him inspired from the game.
Mecha Sonic is based on his appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and he was the first line of defense aboard the Death Egg. Mecha Sonic is inspired after Sonic the Hedgehog and his abilities, and this figure represents a great likeness to how he looked in the game. Mecha Sonic has a robotic design and armor applied to him, and is mostly painted a dark gray and metallic silver. The head features pointy ears, sharp saw-blade quills on the back, and a round orange eye on a wide black sclera. The robot model also features metallic armor with two arms and the orange rocket boosters with tires. His articulation includes a ball jointed neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, ball-hinged hips, swivel-hinged knees, swivel-hinged ankles. Included with Mecha Sonic is a Trap Spring.
Overall, Jakks continues to do an amazing job on this line and this wave is a perfect addition to the growing collection.
