NECA Toys is now offering their Halloween II Michael Myers & Dr. Loomis 2-Pack that is based on the 1981 sequel to the film, which the film is now obsolete as they rebooted the sequels to the 1978 classic. But in this sequel we saw Donald Pleasence reprises his role of Michael’s psychologist and overseeing his care when Michael was placed in Smith’s Grove Sanitarium. When Michael escaped, Dr. Loomis bravely hunted Michael down and even saved Laurie Strode’s life by shooting him in the chest and he falls off the balcony, only to disappear when Loomis looks down. This 2-pack pays tribute to the film and Dr. Loomis gets a deserving figure in the Ultimate line from NECA.

Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis are packaged in a window box, with movie inspired artwork on the front, the logo’s on the side, and images of the figures, along with a description and what’s included on the back.
Michael Myers uses the same Ultimate figure mold as previously offered in 2019, and the figure is sculpted in overalls and painted in a dark blue with a wash. The overalls have more of a grey tone in them with a wash, bullet holes on his chest and back that the bullet holes are highlighted with red deco. The overalls feature realistic folds and details including pockets on his chest and buttocks, and parts of it are made of soft plastic such as the collar around his neck. His shoes are black with sculpted details such as laces and sculpted patterns on the soles.
His head sculpts are brand new for this release, and he is given his iconic mask, which is painted a light grey with a wash on them make them look used and dirty, and one of the heads even has blood coming down the mask from his eyes as seen in the film. The hair on each of these is nicely done with sculpted textures and a paint wash over it.
Michael Myers includes an assortment of accessories and weapons as seen in the film, including a total of 6 interchangeable hands, syringe, knife, scalpel, hammer, a jack o’ lantern with a skull on the front, and flame effects that connect to his body. Each of these are on the fragile side, especially the needle on the syringe. The jack o’ lantern has nicely done sculpted details, and the skull on the front looks amazing.
His articulation includes a ball hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, double-hinged elbows, ball jointed wrists, ball jointed hips, hinged-swivel knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Dr. Loomis features the likeness of Actor Donald Pleasence and comes in a beige trench coat that can be removed, brown pants and jacket, a black tie and a white undershirt. He took has sculpted wrinkles on the clothing to make it look realistic, and even his dress shoes has a realistic look to it, painted in dark brown, a black bottom and given shoe laces.
Dr. Loomis includes removable arms that can be swapped out when removing the trench coat, 2 revolvers and a right hand with a lighter sculpted to it. The revolvers can be placed in the open grip hands and he has a strong hold on them.
His articulation includes a ball hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, hinged-swivel knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, NECA Toys have once again answered the calls of their fanbase and collectors and have given another great horror icons in the plastic treatment, which came out exceptionally well. The figure have a realistic likeness to the film, great accessories, and we are so happy to finally have a Michael Myers figure in the Ultimate collection. This version of Michael Myers fits in great with the other Ultimate figures that they’ve been putting out over the years. There is enough new features and parts to warrant another purchase in case you were wondering, and getting Dr. Loomis in this set is a definitely plus.
