NECA is now offering their Brain figure based on the Gremlins 2: The New Batch film, which saw a new batch of Gremlins taking over a building. The Brain was the leader of this batch, a smart, educated leader, civilized creature, while he can also be just as cunning as vicious as his race. The Brain joins NECA’s Ultimate line-up and includes a pipe, syringe, brain serum, and interchangeable hands.

The Ultimate Brain is packaged in a window box with an opening flap. The cover includes an image of the character, as well as the Gremlins 2 logo, the sides includes the logo, and the back includes images of the figure, a description and a look at his accessories.
Brain is given the same love and attention to detail as we’ve seen through the entire Gremlins line, with sculpted textures and great paint applications on the skin, including his head, hands feet and tail. Most of the body is covered with the fabric clothing, but underneath is the same great sculpt as we’ve seen on Ultimate Stripe and other Gremlins figures. The amount of detail that goes into the Gremlins line is astonishing and NECA continues to offer such incredible and accurate figures that you will recall from the film. Brain is no exception, and he is the leader of The New Batch as seen in the sequel film, so getting him into this line is essential. He gets an improvement over his previous release and is part of the Ultimate line, with updated articulation and much more accurate to the source material.
The tailored fabric suit gives the figure a high-end look and also looks accurate to his film appearance. The suit has velcro that holds it tight to the body, including the front of the back, and back of the blue shirt and pants. It is also possible that the suit can be removed, but keep in mind that this is on the fragile side and probably not meant to come off. On the front of the back is a small black button that is also not meant to be removed.
Brain’s head sculpt is phenomenal, including his glasses that are attached to the head, and all that great sculpted detail and life-like movie accurateness that you’re used too. The mouth is not hinged, but there is a gap inside that the pipe can be placed on to hold onto it.
Included with Brain is a pipe, syringe, brain serum, and interchangeable hands. The syringe can be placed in-between the fingers of his open grip hand, and the pipe can be placed inside his mouth or in his hand. The brain serum includes a clear acrylic jar with a green plastic piece inside, and a label on the side.
His articulation is standard for the Gremlins line, including a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Brain came out great, especially those attention to details with the paint apps, skin textures and accessories. Fans of the film will definitely love this figure and he makes a great addition to your growing NECA collection.
