From the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. universe, comes the EPIC series – a realm where life is larger and filled with unknown creatures. The first timewarp opened, the Boneyard, is home to some truly terrifying creatures – the Epic skeletons! The ancient creatures, long since evolved past the need for flesh, skin or muscle, present as ten foot tall skeletons, living organisms made of bone who appear to possess conscious thought and very human motivations.
Barbarian Skeleton:
Perhaps the most brutal and destructive of the skeletons, the Barbarians often appear alongside one of the Spectral Skeletons, so it’s believed they’re either not crafty enough or not powerful enough to transport themselves from the Boneyard. Toting brutal weaponry and savage tactics, they’ve been seen throughout history, described as giants or titans, known to pulverize hapless human enemies with a single blow of their double-bladed axe.
Rumors are a trio of the Barbarians ended up in the Blasted Lands and it took three dozen Orcs to finally drag them down and defeat them. Several of those Orcs wear their bones as armor, considering it a priceless trophy among their clans.
While frightening and intimidating, the Barbarians remain single-minded, interested in only destruction and death. While they are among the strongest and toughest of the Bone Battlers, they are easily outsmarted and can often be tricked into fighting amongst themselves.
Gladiator Skeleton:
While it’s unknown where the Gladiators first appeared, one of their kind was captured by the ancient Romans and forced into combat with one of their most popular warriors. After decimating its enemy, the skeleton vanished, and a group of them reappeared sometime later, dressed in oversized Gladiator garb, tailored just for their impressive bulk. Confronting the emperor who had forced them into combat, they slew him and hundreds of his men, laying waste to the city and cleaving a massive chunk from the colosseum.
Since that time, these Bone Battlers in Gladiator armor have made their presence known throughout various periods of time, and in every case they are crafty, skilled warriors, preferring to use guile and speed over the brute strength of their Barbarian comrades. That can work against them as they get overcome by superior numbers, especially when they venture into the fantasy era and find themselves up against a horde of Orcs.
Tales tell of a time when a Gladiator and a Barbarian ended up on opposite sides of battle and the resulting destruction from their skirmish leveled a small town and reduced a nearby forest to splinters.
Pirate Skeleton:
Emerging from the murky depths, the Pirates prefer to rob, steal, and cause mayhem rather than going toe-to-toe in battle and rumors persist of a group of these pirates who tormented sea-goers throughout the area surrounding Jamaica and indeed may have even taken over Port Royal and held it as their own for a period of time.
Whether or not the Pirates have true mystical abilities is unknown, though their bones are typically green almost to the point of luminescence. Some think they may have adapted to the deep water paths they travel, their bones gaining a strange glow to compensate for the darkness of their underwater residence. Whatever the reason, once they emerge from the depths, they instill fear in all they come across, not just because of their size, but because of the distinct color of their bodies. Whether the bones themselves are that colored or a strange, luminescent hue surrounds them is unknown– nobody has ever gotten close enough to figure that out.
Unlike the Barbarians and the Gladiators, the Pirates prefer not to fight, they’d rather abscond with treasure and find a nice, relaxing place to kick back. Unfortunately, their size, their look, and the radiant glow of their green bones usually means they cannot stay unseen for long.
Grim Spectre Skeleton:
The history of this ancient race remains mostly cloaked in shadow, but within the darkness of that shadow lurk the Spectral Skeletons, mysterious beings of an almost translucent illumination, clad in mystical robes and carrying spell books. Some have hypothesized that these Spectral Skeletons are the spiritual leaders of this entire species, opening portals into other temporal zones, sending their foot soldiers in to create havoc and chaos.
However, in spite of all of these questions, there remain very few answers. During the rare occurrence that someone meets up with a Spectral Skeleton, it generally ends badly for them, the raw power they possess enough to dwarf most human mages. They’ve been known to go toe-to-toe with the ancient demons themselves, trading magical bolts, casting silent incantations of teleportation and summoning seemingly limitless energy from the Boneyard itself to power their magic.
These 1:12 scale skeletons come packaged for powerful battles clad in their hood and collar, cloth robe, belt, magic book, flame, scythe, alternate head and hands, and stand for posing.
