Thank you to Mattel for sending along their SDCC 2022 Exclusive – Jurassic World Hammond Collection Outhouse Chaos Set for review.

Availability: San Diego Comic-Con,  July 22, 2022 at Mattel Creations

The Jurassic World Hammond Collection Outhouse Chaos Set is packaging in a slip cover and window box, with nicely done artwork inspired from the main gate of Jurassic Park on the front and back of the slip cover. The window box features artwork of the Tyrannosaurus Rex fence, plants and signage. Inside the box, there’s a diorama of the death scene of Attorney Donald Gennaro, where he was eaten by the T-Rex while sitting on the toilet in hiding.

This set is notable for the release of Donald Gennaro, as he’s offered for the first-time as an action figure and one of the remaining characters needed for a complete collection of the 1993 film. Gennaro comes in a white and grey stripe dress shirt, beige shorts, a brown belt with a gold belt buckle, a brown tie with a pattern, and brown dress shoes. Gennaro’s head sculpt features a great likeness to actor Donald Gennaro, using the Digital scanning technology to give you the best likeness possible. Included is a hat, which can be removed, and a briefcase.

The T-Rex is a repaint of the Jurassic World: Dominion Thrash ‘N Devour Tyrannosaurus Rex figure, with the new “rain deco” as it was raining outside during the time the T-Rex escaped, attacked the Ford Explorers and ate Gennaro. The T-Rex features a perfect likeness to his on-scene appearance, and features a chopping action, with a hinged jaw and tongue for that chopping action. The skin is given sculpted textures and nicely done paint applications, including dark and light brown, and black nails.

The sign works best for the diorama inside the window box, but also makes a great accessory for this set. The labels applied.

The Outhouse is by far the best of the accessories, with most of it made of cardboard, including all of the bamboo walls, and roof. The toilet is perfectly scaled for him to sit on, and the seat doesn’t lift down. It also features lights and sounds, including the roaring of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. For a demonstration of that, check out our post on Instagram.

Gennaro can also fit inside the T-Rex’s mouth, to recreate his iconic death scene.

Overall, Mattel’s Jurassic World team have outdone themselves with their Outhouse set for this years SDCC. The set is incredible, with the special offerings including the Outhouse, T-Rex and Gennaro. Hopefully you got this if you were looking to round up your 1993 Jurassic Park collection, as this would be an essential item for that.
