Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in the Minimates line by Diamond Select Toys, and based on the classic cartoon of the 80’s and 90’s. This set includes each of the turtles, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo, all in their iconic tool colors, elbow and knee pads, with the first letter of their names on the belt buckle. Each figure stands at 2″ tall and comes in the block form with the shell and pads placed over their bodies. Also included are figure bases, baby turtles, their iconic weapons (Raphael is missing his sais in this set), and a can of mutagen.

This set is packaged on a retro VHS-style packaging, with some original artwork redesigned with Minimates on the cover, and the Technodrome in the back. There’s additional artwork and images on the sides and back. The slipcover comes off to reveal the VHS-style packaging inside, with the turtles in a plastic tray along with their accessories, with artwork on the sides, including a reminder to rewind, and artwork of a VHS tape on the back.
Each Minimate comes in the standard block style with a newly tooled shell on their back and fronts, with a letter of their first name on their belt, and their elbow and knee pads are in their iconic colors. Each of the skin tones are also a different shade of green, as you would remember in the vintage toyline from Playmates Toys. In addition, their mouth expressions and eyes are different, giving you a new look on each of their heads.
Included are 4 bases (2x acrylic, a mutagen themed base and a sewer lid base), 4x baby turtles each in different shades of green, a can of mutagen, a M.O.U.S.E.R, and their iconic accessories. Leonardo comes with two katana’s, Raphael comes with two sais (which are missing in this set), Donatello his bo staff, and Michelangelo two nunchucks. Also included are two throwing stars that can be placed in any one of their hands.
Overall, these are phenomenal Minimates offerings that fans are surely going to love. It’s about time we got these from the classic cartoon and DST’s designers have done a great job on the design and accessories for this release. Make sure to grab this set while you can and support it because I for one want some villains to go along with this set.
