NECA Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mirage Comics Ultimate Casey Jones Figure Review

Casey Jones makes his debut in NECA’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mirage Comics line, and based on the classic comic book series and this is a figure that many have been waiting for! This line actually started all the way back in 2007 when NECA offered the four turtles and April O’Neil, and then it stopped, so this relaunch has been something of a treat for fans. We’ve also gotten Fugitoid and Renet recently, along with Claw Shredder that was recently released through Lootcrate, which is nothing but a gift to fans that want to see more from this line. This version of Casey Jones was also the first-time the character was introduced, years before the cartoon or even the movie versions, Casey Jones was first featured in this comic series.

Casey Jones comes in a window box packaging, with beautifully done artwork inspired from the Mirage comic series, images of the character on both sides, images of the figure and a look at additional characters on the back.

Casey Jones finally makes his debut in NECA’s Mirage TMNT line, and this is the first-time that he was introduced to fans. As this is comic-inspired, this particular design is different than the cartoon, and he has the black lines and hatch marks, along with the bright colors. He comes in a grey tank top, dark blue pants, brown boots, light blue gloves, a light grey mask with light brown straps that are shown in some parts of the back of the head, as the hair covers some of it. The mask includes facial details such as the white eyes with black lines, mouth, and nose. The tank top is also short, with the lower part of his belly showing.

Included with Casey Jones are three additional interchangeable hands (open grip set and a right hand for the gulf club), two baseball bats, a hockey stick, a golf club, a bag, an unmasked head sculpt and a mask for him to hold.

His articulation is standard for the line, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

The accessories look great, with the baseball bats, hockey stick and golf club are painted to resemble wood, with dark grey bandages and a handle on the golf club. The golf club also has a white head, and each of the accessories also has the black lines. The mask can also hang from the accessories, or be placed in his hands.

Comparing him the cartoon Casey Jones, both figures are similar, but also there are some vast differences between them such as the hight and style, with the cartoon version looking a little more bulky compared to the Mirage Comics offering.

He also fits in great with other figures in the Mirage Comics line, and here’s a look with some recent offerings.

Overall, getting Casey Jones in this line is long overdue and he looks great. This is an essential character to the line and you’re definitely going to want to add him to your collection. You an purchase now at Entertainment Earth for $34.99, with coupon code details below.
