NECA Toys are bringing back Freddy Krueger to horror fans, but not as an action figure this time around, but as prop replica’s of his infamous gloves he used throughout the franchise. This includes the glove us used in A Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy Krueger Glove and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. These gloves are two different variations, and are made of metal and leather-like fabric.
Thank you to NECA Toys for sending along their A Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy Krueger Glove Prop Replica and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Freddy Krueger Glove Prop Replica for review.
Availability: June 2023
Each of the Freddy Krueger Glove Prop Replica’s are packaged in a window box, with nicely done artwork inspired from the film that the particular glove is based off of. This includes movie images of Freddy Kruger in various poses with the glove in his hand, logo’s and artwork. The gloves are packaged in a plastic tray for safe keeping.
Both of these gloves are similar in design, but also have some differences that you might not recall or pay too close attention too when watching the films. At some point, the glove was redesigned a bit between the the first and third films, with the majority of the differences being in the metal parts, including the copper plate and the brass knuckles.
Both of the metal parts are given a wash over it to make it look worn and a bit used, which also makes it look realistic to the film and source material. The brass plate is also hanging higher on the A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors glove, and lower on the original glove, which helps to identify which glove is based on which film. The copper knuckles are also given some unique designs where they’re pinned to the brass plate, which is another way to identify the two.
The finger tips are also different, with the Dream Warriors glove more oval, and the original glove more of a rounded shape at the fingertips. The blades themselves look to be the same on both, and are a dull blade so you don’t end up cutting yourself or anyone.
The leather-like fabric design is excellent on these, and both have a wash over it, and a very similar design. The Dream Warriors glove has a more oval hole, and the original glove has a more rounded hole at the palm of each hand.
There is also a close-pin on the original glove, which you don’t see on the Dream Warriors glove. Both gloves are also articulated at the fingers, so you can position the blades with your fingers just like you saw in the film. They both also have the green strong with a red bead, which can be seen on the back of the brass plate.
Overall, these gloves are so realistic looking that fans are surely going to want to pick these up for cosplay, and to enhance their NECA horror and Freddy Krueger collection. The attention to detail and material used is top notch, and NECA’s design team have once again outdone themselves on these collectibles. Make sure to grab these today!
