Availability: July 2023 – San Diego Comic-Con; Mattel Creations

The Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary Steven Spielberg Figure set is packaged in a black box with the Jurassic Park logo on the front and back, and inside that is a window box packaging with a working clapperboard on top. To the right is the Hammond Collection logo, a description, and the left includes the JP logo. On the back is the artwork for a clapperboard.

The set includes two characters and three accessories, including a 3 3/4″ Steven Spielberg figure, an articulated Dilophosaurus, a a camera, a director’s chair and animatronic stand that the Dilophosaurus can stand on.

Steven Spielberg comes in a white shirt, light blue jeans, white shoes, a dark blue and light grey hat with a red insignia, black shades, and sculpted hair that is in a dark grey. The shirt includes images of a Tyrannosaurus Rex in various colors.

He is also fully articulated, including a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

The Director’s chair includes his name on the front, and the Jurassic Park logo on the back. It cannot be folded, and the figure can be placed on it.

The camera is mostly cast and black, and includes a tripod that doesn’t fold, and a lens.

The Dilophosaurus can stand on the animatronic base, which is cast in black. This pays tribute to what they used in the film, but he doesn’t need it to stand.

The Dilophosaurus is a fully sculpted figure with sculpted textures throughout the sculpt, and is painted in a light green, and dark grey. The ears have a yellow and red, along with green around the sides, with all of this given great paint applications.

He is also fully articulated, including a hinged jaw, ball jointed neck, ball hinged neck, swivel-hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and an articulated tail that is bendy.

The Dilophosaurus is remembered for his scene with Dennis Nedry, but this particular is too big to fit inside the jeep. The backdrop on the box indicates this memorable scene as the Jeep is featured.

Overall, this Steven Spielberg set is surely a popular exclusive and one you need to add to your collection, especially if you’ve been collecting the 1993 movie figure line. Make sure to add it to your collection while you still can.
