Playmates Toys have brought back some more classic figure molds from the 1990’s and reissuing their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; The Secret of the Ooze Shredder, Tokka, Rahzar, and a Foot Soldier that you had back in your childhood. The figures are given some slightly new paint applications and their original accessories. This is a great companion piece with last years Movie Turtles figure box set, and is exclusively available at Amazon for $49.99.

The Movie Stars Villains set is packaged in a white shipping box, with bright green text on the front and back. Inside, is another box with more artwork, with Super Shredder on the front of a theatre, Tokka and Rahzar in the back in an ally. Each figure is packaged on a blister card, with movie film of various scenes and retro-inspired artwork on the front, and the back also has movie scenes and images of the figures in this box.
These figures are reissued from their early 1990’s counterparts, and with the exception of Super Shredder, these three are reissued for the first-time since their first release. These also have some minimal changes in deco compared to the vintage figures, and comes with their original accessories.
Super Shredder comes in his dark purple and black outfit, with grey armor, with the blades made of a soft plastic that is bendy and safe for children. He also has metallic silver patterns on the shoulders, a removable belt, and the head sculpt is helmeted, and painted in black, and metallic silver. HIs articulation includes a swivel head, swivel shoulders, swivel forearms, and ball jointed hips.
Rahzar is a mutated wolf, and features sculpted brown fur, a torn blue shirt, green shorts, dark grey armor that is removable on the chest, forearms and hips, black knee pads, and dark grey shoulder pads. The claws and toe nails are painted in yellow, which is the same for the teeth. The head sculpt includes an open mouth, and painted eyes. His articulation includes a swivel head, swivel shoulders, swivel elbows, and ball jointed hips.
Tokka is a mutated snapping turtle, and painted in dark green skin, a beige and black chest, tan, black and yellowish bones, and nose. He has a black belt that is removable, with a Foot logo on the front. The facial details are nicely done, and the inside of the mouth is red, with yellow teeth, and painted eyes. His articulation includes a swivel head, swivel shoulders, swivel elbows, and ball jointed hips.
The Foot Soldier is painted in a light and dark grey ninja costume, a black belt, strap, gauntlets, and boots. There is also a throwing star tucked away under the belt, and a knife under the strap on his left knee. The head sculpt includes the red bandana, metallic silver eyes and mouth. His articulation includes a swivel head, swivel shoulders, swivel elbows, and ball jointed hips.
Super Shredder includes a bladed weapon two cans of mutagen, and a communicator like the one used in the classic cartoon series. Rahzar includes a shield, spine with a skull that has a hinged jaw, and a grappling hook with a spider and string. Tokka includes two knives, one with a zig-zag, a mace, and some kind of bat with barbed wire. The Foot Soldier includes a can of mutagen, a sword, and two nunchucks.
Overall, this is an excellent box set that fans are surely going to love, even if they own the originals. I’m very impressed they even had the original tooling to use, which they never indicated they even had until these were re-released in this set. Tokka and Rahzar also don’t have too many figures on the market, so getting another shot at obtaining the originals will make fans very happy. Make sure to grab this set now!
