Hasbro’s newly released Transformers Studio Series The Movie ’86 Commander Class Constructicons Hook and Long Haul 2-Pack Figures are the best versions of these characters ever released, which says a lot about this new era as their Combiner Wars offerings were great 10 years ago, but these take that to an entirely different level. These are based on the 1986 Transformers The Movie, and each Construction forms a part to build Devastator. This set includes Hook and Long Haul, some parts for Devastator, and the instructions to build that Devastator.

Hook is a crane that is mostly green, with purple, black and metallic silver rims. There’s a sculpted texture on some of the platforms on Hook in this mode. The wheels can rotate, the he has a working crane that is on a swivel-hinged joint, and a hinged hook. His blaster can be stored on the side of the crane, as shown.

Hook’s robot mode is certainly an upgrade to this Combier Wars offering, which could be said about all of the new Constructicons. HIs chest is purple and he has a Decepticon logo, metallic silver on the lower legs, light grey upper legs and feet. The shoulder flaps can be raised so they don’t block his articulation, which is a nice touch.

HIs head sculpt is mostly black, with a red visor, and a metallic silver face.

Hook includes a blaster that he can hold in either hand.

Long Haul is a dump truck that’s also green, black and purple, with some red on the top in this mode, and metallic silver rims. The blaster can be stored on his side, as shown. The trailer can connect to him in the back, and he can tow it. The trailer includes parts for Devastator, including his waist, thighs, chest and forearms.

Long Haul can hold his blaster in either hand, and comes as two pieces that connect together.
A breakdown of both figures articulation is in the video above.
Overall, Hook and Long Haul are great figures and a vast improvement over Combiner Wars or any other offering previously released. These are the best representations of these characters ever offered, and fans are certainly in for a treat with these new figures.
