This year at San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro’s Star Wars brand team brought their A-game with several new exclusives that are a must have for all die-hard Star Wars fans and collectors. Not only is this a fantastic exclusive, but they even offered Grand Admiral Thrawn with exclusive accessories (reviewed HERE).

There are two variations of the Speeder, with the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive featuring premium paint and detail along with moving parts in the engine that won’t be available in the general retail release. In addition, the packaging is different, and you can check out at the amazing packaging below.

Availability: July 19th-23rd, 2017; HasbroToyShop.com

The Luke Skywalker with Speeder set is based on Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, as seen on the planet Tatooine. The speeder features amazing likeness and superior detail and deco, an opening hood with premium paint and detail in the engine along with moving parts, controls, gear switch, and a steering wheel, two opening back storage compartments, a holster for the rifle, a spot for R2-D2 can plug into for storage on the back, a backseat for C-3PO, and it can also hold two figures, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker. The speeder also features some damage on the front bumper, which is dented inward and scratched. This detail is just amazing, especially all of the detailed paint applications on the body, jets, and control panels. On the bottom is a removable acrylic stand that can only swivel. The stand is a nice touch, however it would have been ideal if it could raise or lower the Speeder.

Luke Skywalker features an improved likeness and figure sculpt that is updated from the previous figure. This new figure includes a new head sculpt, poncho, different tunic material, a lightsaber with a removable blade, macrobinoculars, a lightsaber hilt, a slugthrower rifle and hat with goggles that was part of a deleted scene.  Sculpted around his waist is a belt that the the macrobinoculars and lightsaber can be stored. The belt is nicely detailed and painted, with a silver belt buckle, punches, and gold buttons on the brown belt. The boots are also a different shade of beige compared to the other figure. The poncho fits over the figure and is made of fabric. The hat and goggles, and the slugthrower rifle are great accessory choices as well, and the sculpt and likeness on those are also extremely nicely done.

Overall, there is a lot to love about this set that we feel that every Star Wars fan can agree, this Luke Skywalker with Speeder set is truly a remarkable piece and a great idea for an exclusive. If you haven’t been able to obtain one, try HasbroToyShop.com later this Summer/September or pick up the general retail release.
