Disney is offering a new line of Marvel, Star Wars and Toy Story/Pixar figures that is inspired in an animated style. These new figures are part of the Disney Toy Box offerings, and are re-engineered and articulated to resemble the Disney Infinite video game designs. In the game, franchises could interact throughout all of Disney’s properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Disney/Pixar characters. Fans of that game can now collect highly detailed and articulated figures based on those designs.
The first wave includes Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and Spider-Man from Marvel. Spider-Man appears to be coming next month, as Disney will be offering a new characters each month exclusively at the Disney Store.
For Star Wars, the first wave includes Kylo Ren, Rey, and a First Order Stormtrooper, and Disney/Pixar they are offering Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie from Toy Story. Look for new characters to be released each month. Each figure is priced at $12.95 each, and stands between 5-6″ tall.

Disney Infinite was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness. The first wave available from Marvel includes Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and Spider-Man (Spider-Man is not yet listed on the website and should be released at some point in November/December).
Each figure in this assortment stands between 5-6″ tall, and features bulky and animated inspired sculpts as seen in the game. The Hulk stands roughly 5-3/4″ tall and has the biggest sculpt of the line so far. The sculpt shows off the characters strength and brute force appearance. The chest and shoulders and the largest part of the body, with the arms and legs sculpted slightly thinner in comparison, with he hands and feet even smaller. The head sculpt is the smallest part of the body, and looks disproportional. The chest includes nipples, and he is sculpted with purple pants with red stripes on the front. Hulk is painted with green skin, and the color that they used works very well for him. The hair includes some lumps and is painted in a darker green, and the facial details are nicely detailed, and the eye brows are also painted in the same green as the hair. Included with Hulk is a metal pipe that is bent and squashed by his immense strength. The lower portion of the pipe is almost flattened, so it can be placed in his left hand. The detail on the pipping looks good, and includes bolts that attach the pipes together. On either end, there is a hole beveled inward to make it more realistic.
Hulk comes fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, hinged and rocker ankles.
Iron Man stands at 5-1/4″ tall and is sculpted in his red, gold and grey armor. The sculpt includes some great details on the armor including the Arc Reactor on his chest, objects that appear to be bolts on the grey parts of the armor, and the paint applications are nicely detailed and the gold deco on the armor is painted with nice crisp lines. The head sculpt includes a non-removable helmet, with he gold deco on the face plate, some grey deco on the sides, and red covering the rest of the helmet, including the chin. Included with Iron Man is a repulsor blast accessory that attaches to his hand.
Iron Man comes fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Thor stands at slightly over 5-1/2″ tall and is sculpted in a dark and light grey suit, with some blue deco on the chest, and a long red cape. The sculpt shows off his muscles as his chest and arms are sculpted larger than the legs. The details on the armor is nicely done, and the circular designs on the armor are one of the main focal points on the figure. The two on top of chest is what holds the cape in place. The paint applications between the light and dark grey deco works well, and there is a line of blue deco connected to each of the circular objects on his armor. The head sculpt is nicely done, and he is painted with long blonde hair, a blonde beard and mustache, and the facial details look great. The eye brows are also painted in the same blonde deco.
Included with Thor is his Mjolnir Hammer accessory, and it fits in his right hand. The hammer is attached to a handle with straps wrapped around it.
Thor comes fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Overall, these new Disney figures are nicely done, and include great articulation, sculpting, deco and accessories. Marvel and Disney Infinite fans will definitely want to own these.
