Diamond Select Toys released their Marvel Select Daredevil figure that is based on the Netflix television series starting Charlie Cox. Daredevil’s costume is based on the beginning of the second season of the series, which pays tribute to the classic red and black costume.
Daredevil was the first series in a planned of Marvel shows exclusively on Netflix, which includes Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Man, and the combined series The Defenders. The Punisher was just released on Netflix as well, which continues the story of that character after he appeared in Daredevil.

The Marvel Select Daredevil figure stands at 6-3/4″ tall and is based on his the beginning of season 2 of the Netflix series. The figure is sculpted in his red and black costume as seen in the second season, which in the series was custom made for Matt Murdock. The suit is painted in a dark red, with a black wash lightly painted over it. The black deco on the suit gives the suit a nice looking design, which is shown on his mask, chest and back, forearms, hands, hips, and legs. There are no textures on the costume, but instead it was given realistic folds. On his left knee there is a holster for the billy clubs, which is a little difficult to slide them into and remove as the holster is made of hard plastic. On the straps of the holster is a thin white line, which has some of the black deco bleeding over it, and the belt and chest has some silver deco on the buckles. The boots are nicely detailed and look realistic, and includes shoe laces, as well as a pattern on the sides, and the bottom.
The head sculpt is especially nicely done, and the mask includes the black wash over the red, and the black deco is painted in-between the grooves in the mask, as well as the sides. The mask also has the devil horns, and glowing red eyes that make him look menacing. The face is nicely detailed with a five o’clock shadow, and has a good likeness to Actor Charlie Cox.
Daredevil is also fully articulated and is capable of many great poses. This includes a ball jointed neck, ball jointed chest, swivel waist, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, hinged-swivel hips, double-jointed knees, swivel boots, and hinged rocker ankles.
The base that is included depicts the elevator from the season premier. This piece comes in two sections, the door and the floor, and is easy to assemble. The elevator door features great deco that makes it look realistic, and includes a dark green deco with a black wash over it, a handle, and a white wall around it with a green stripe. The white wall is also painted with a black wash over it to make it look dirty, and this is very nicely detailed. There are even cracks in the wall that shows its age. The floor is painted in grey, and also includes cracks. There are also several holes on the elevator door and floor for the included stand to be plugged into, which gives Daredevil even more display options and many different ways to pose him on this base. Also included is a figure stand that breaks apart into several different sections that gives you many options for its length, and a base to plug it into, as well as two sets of interchangeable hand sculpts – fisted and open hands to hold the billy clubs.
Overall, Daredevil is an excellent figure, and features an excellent sculpt and display base that fans of the show will defiantly enjoy.
