The style of the figures are based on the Disney: Infinity game designs, and are re-engineered and articulated In the game, franchises could interact throughout all of Disney’s properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Disney/Pixar characters. Fans of that game can now collect highly detailed and articulated figures based on those designs.
Thank you to Disney and the Disney Store for providing their exclusive Marvel Toy Box – Spider-Man Figure for review.

Disney Infinite was Disney’s version of LEGO Dimensions, where franchises collide and characters can interact. These figures are loosely based on this game, and have been re-engineered and articulated to resemble the game’s likeness. Spider-Man is the latest Marvel offering in the Toy Box line, with other characters, as mentioned above to join the line at some point in the near future.
Sider-Man stands at 5″ tall and is the fourth Marvel Toy Box figure in this line, which is numbered as #3 on the packaging. Spider-Man is sculpted in his iconic spidey suit, and painted in a faded red and dark blue deco, with black trim, and big white eyes. There is a black spider sculpted to his chest, and a larger red spider on his back. The costume includes spider webs sculpted on the red parts, and the blue and black parts of the costume are left smooth. On this particular figure, Spider-Man has some paint marks on the right eye, that has some black deco, and various parts of the costume has some bleeding. It’s unclear how other figures will compare to this sample. Even the black lines don’t perfectly go over where the red and blue paint meet, and instead were drawn over the blue deco on the left side.
The Disney Infinite Spider-Man design has been slightly changed to add additional articulation to the figure, which includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel hinged elbows, swivel hinged hips, swivel hinged knees, and hinged ankles. The hip joints are very loose, which makes the legs very loose. The legs are also connected together from a peg holding them in place to the crotch area.
Included with Spider-Man is a web accessory with a spider web on the front, and a section cup on the back so that the figure can swing on glass or a window. The web accessory has a string with a handle attached, with the string winding up inside the web. The string and handle cannot be displayed as if he’s swinging while showcasing the string, as there is no option such as a button or switch to press to wind it back up, so it’s an automatic feature.
For reference purposes, the final product has more faded paint applications than the mock up photo posted on the The Disney Store. The official image shows a brighter red and blue deco. The biggest difference between the two is the red deco, which as you can see was changed to a more faded red. This is just to show you what to expect when your figures arrives.
Overall, Disney Infinite was a great video game, and we are loving this new line by Disney. The Marvel Toy Box figures are great additions to any Marvel toy collection, and definitely something that all Marvel fans should own.
