Mattel is offering a Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman figure as fans remember her in the 1970’s television series, which ran from 1975-1979. This is Lynda’s most iconic role and fans remember her most for, and this figure represents her appearance on the show during that era. This Wonder Woman figure is available now in the DC Multiverse line, and joins Batman from Batman Forever or the Flash from the hit 1990 TV series.
Thank you to Mattel for providing their DC Multiverse Lynda Carter Wonder Woman Signature Collection Figure for review.
Availability: December 2018
Lynda Carter Wonder Woman features a great likeness to the classic 1970’s television series, and the figure stands at 6 1/4″ tall. She is sculpted and painted in her classic red, blue, gold and white outfit with the Lasso of Truth sculpted to her waist. The sculpt also details such as the gold on her chest and white stars on her shorts. the red stars on her bracelets, and the red star on her headband. The sculpted details and metallic gold and blue deco makes her stand out and this is definitely one excellent figure. Her head sculpt includes the headband, red earrings, black hair with a blue wash, and the facial details include nicely sculpted and painted eyes, nose and mouth. Her red top is painted on rather than sculpted, and her boots have a slight bevel is sculpting to separate them from the knees.
Wonder Woman includes a cloth cape that can wrap around her, open hands, a flight stand, base, diorama backdrop, and pegs to put into the base for her to stand on. The base and stand is just like the one’s that came with Batman and The Flash, and the backdrop is of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman.
Her articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and swivel ankles.
Overall, Wonder Woman is an excellent figure with a superior likeness, accessories, sculpted detail and deco. The inclusion of this version of Wonder Woman in this line-up is a most welcome addition, as this is one of the most memorable television depictions of the character. Mattel’s DC brand team continues to do extraordinary work on these figures and we hope to see the trend continue for years to come.
