Availability: December 2018 / January 2019

Bob Backlund joins the ranks of Mattel’s WWE Elite Collection, and features an excellent figure sculpt with detailed likeness, a soft-goods ring attire that is removable, and the WWE Championship belt. The robe is dark blue with white trim on top, and hand stitching holding it together. The robe is tied with a belt, but it can be removed without un-tieing the belt as you probable don’t want to undue that knot that is done by the factory. There is also a separate white scarf that is removable from around his neck, and also made of fabric.

Once the ring attire is removed, Bob Backlund is sculpted with purple shorts, knee pads, and black and white boots as this is one of the outfits he wore in his matches. As he is part of the Elite collection, he’s given some enhanced articulation and detail reserved for figures from that line-up. His head sculpt is nicely done and detailed to resemble the superstar, and is given short brown hair, and nicely done facial details.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, ball jointed wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel boots, hinged and rocker ankles. Besides the ring attire, he includes the WWE championship belt, and an extra set of hands.

Overall, Bob Bucklund is an excellent figure, with great attention to detail, great outfit and a beautiful figure design. Fans of the Golden Age will surely want to add this legend to their collection.
