Jazware’s Fortnite line is one of the hottest properties right now on the market, and this includes a full line-up of action figures, including a multipack and singles, and this Squad Mode Core Figure Box Set that gives you four figures to add to your collection. This box set includes Rex, Ragnarok, Cuddle Team Leader and Brite Bomber. We previously covered the packaging that was sent out, which is a life-size chest, that carried all of these sets when Jazwares shipped them out. That chest is truly amazing, and definitely one of the most impressive packaging we’ve ever seen.
A Fortnite Loot Chest that carries accessories for the 4″ figures is also featured in this review, and this particular chest is labeled as D, out of versions A,B,C and E variations that are also available. This particular chest includes an Uplink, Heavy Shotgun, Minigun, and a Burst Assault Rifle, as well as 2 Buildable Materials. Each of the chests like this one are sold separately, and each variation includes different accessories that the figures can hold. In the game, chests like this are scattered around and its up to the player to find them and take the contents.

The Squad Mode Core Figure Box Set includes four figures – Ragnarok, Rex, Cuddle Team Leader and Brite Bomber, and each figure includes accessories and a Wooden Buildable pieces with pegs so that the figure can stand on them. The figures are packaged in a window box, with artwork on the front as well as the figures shown through a plastic window along with all of their accessories. The back includes artwork of the characters just as they appear in the video game, along with preview thumbnails of additional characters available in the 4″ figure line.
Ragnarok features one of the best figure sculpts in the set, and the figure is covered in armor. The character is a Dark Viking, and features a head sculpt that is mostly bone with two horns, and the tips of the horn and beard are translucent blue plastic. The beard has gold beads on it that is nicely detailed and painted. The armor is painted in silver and brown, with dark blue sleeves and pants underneath.The armor is nicely detailed with features such as shoulder guards with bone details on the right one, chest harness a gold belt buckle attacked to a belt with flaps around his waist. The figure also has gauntlets on his forearms, and shinguards that are nicely sculpted and detailed just like in the game. His elbows and hands are light purple, which does stand out to the darker tones. Ragnarok includes a Harvesting tool and a rifle.
Brite Bomber is sculpted and painted in her blue and black outfit, with a unicorn standing on a cloud over a rainbow printed on her shirt. The black painted parts on the sculpt have a sculpted design to it that also gives it a texture, and she also has some purple deco for the gloves, laces on the right boots, back of the boots, belt buckle and a band on the right arm. The head sculpt is nicely done, and she has red hair in a ponytail with glasses with a blue frame and a purple lens on top of her head, and nicely detailed facial details that includes the printed eyes, and purple lips. She includes a unicorn Harvesting tool, that has a unicorn head on a stick with wheels at the other end, and a sniper rifle.
Cuddle Team Leader is sculpted and painted in her pink skin-tight outfit with a broken heart detail, and has a huge bear head mask and dark pink gloves. The pink outfit includes sculpted details and textures that resembles fur, which gives the suit a realistic look. She is also sculpted with purple boots and white shoe laces, with silver armor on the left boot and knee, and black straps around her right thigh. Her hands are covered in purple gloves with her fingers poking through, and she has a black harness on her back and around her shoulders. Her head sculpt looks great, and has the appearance of a bear with a white and black nose, pink tongue, and two different color eyes, with the right eye that has a white stripe above it. On the back of the mask is a white stripe with three black dots with three red X’s on them. She includes a Harvesting tool that’s an arrow painted in silver, with white angel wings, and a red heart over the wings. She also has two pistol that fits into each hand.
Rex is sculpted and painted to resemble a green dinosaur, with orange bandana and details. This suit is a reference to a Reptar, and to Boo from Monsters Inc. The suit is nicely done and is painted in both dark and light green, with a black harness around his chest and shoulders, green belt with a brown belt underneath it, two black pouches, one of the green belt and one on the left hip, knee guards, feet guards, and green boots with a detailed pattern around them. The dinosaur mask is removable, and includes white teeth, an orange nose, orange spikes, white eyes, with orange and black pupils. Included is a Harvesting tool with the word slurp painted in green on both sides, and a rifle.
The articulation on all of these figures includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed torso, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles. Besides the accessories mentioned, all figures include a Wooden Buildable piece that they can stand on.
Overall, the new Fortnite line-up by Jazwares is one of the best toy lines currently on the market, and this Squad Mode Core Figure Box Set gives fans four characters that go great with the Turbo Builder Set. All of the figures feature great sculpts and great likenesses to the game. Fans of the game, and action figure collectors in general should definitely purchase this set and other offerings currently available.
