Hulk is packaged on a blister card that is a throwback to the 1990 Marvel Super Heroes line by Toybiz, and includes some very nice artwork, Incredible Hulk logo, and images of Hulk. Back in the day, the vintage line had images of more of the figures shown on the back that were available, which has not been carried over to this modern era. Instead, Hulk is posed in an action shot on back along with a brief bio.
Hulk is massive, big, bulky and muscular just as he should be, and the figure is a modern take on the 1990 Marvel Super Hero Hulk figure that Toybiz once offered. Hulk has a great likeness and this is one of Hasbro’s best-ever Classic Hulk figures in this modern age of toys. The figure has some great sculpted muscular details, along with veins on his arms and chest, plus the added articulation really makes this one incredible exclusive figure.
Hulk stands at almost 8 1/2″ tall and is sculpted is his classic purple pants that are torn, and the pants have a dark purple wash over it. In the areas that are torn, there is a lighter purple deco, which brings out the details. What is also great is that the fingernails and toenails are also painted, which are a lighter green than the skin.
Hulk’s head sculpt is nicely done with an open mouth and facial details that looks like he’s angry. The eyes and tongue are both painted in metallic green that’s makes them shine, and his hair has a green wash over the black, along with black deco on the back of his head showcasing some shaved hair.
Included with Hulk is a pipe that fits into his right hand, and this is very easy to place in his hand as the fingers are made of a soft plastic, as opposed to a harder plastic that often gets stiff. That’s a great surprise that Hasbro’s Marvel team made this change for the accessory, and the pipe fits securely into his hand. The pipe is nicely done and has some nicely sculpted details especially the part of it that Hulk crushed while holding it. The pipe has a wash over it and both ends are hollow, allowing you to see inside.
Overall, Hulk is a beautiful looking figure and a great update to the vintage toy. Marvel fans will surely want to add this figure to their collections, so make sure and try to pick him at one of the conventions he’s appearing in this year.
