The Imperial Stormtrooper is one of the most recognized villains in movie cinema history, and this new 7″ scale release from Diamond Select Toys in their new Star Wars line gives the character one of his accurate figures to the films to-date. Since the figure is taller compared to TBS 6″ scale, he’s given a nice bulky figure sculpt with excellent quality and attention to detail, including a belt and shoulder pads that are made with soft plastic. The sculpt also includes a holster for the E-11 blaster, but it’s very hard to get it in. The shiny white finish on the armor looks excellent, and he’s just as detailed as he is on-screen. The tiny black dots on his stomach are somewhat hidden under the belt, and are nicely painted. The knee are also different, and the back of the knees are more screen accurate than what we’ve seen on the 6″ scale line as these are single jointed.

The helmet is as impressive as the body, with the metallic white deco, black and overall sculpting, this is one of the most accurate figures of the armor you can own.

Stormtrooper includes the DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle, E-11 blaster, SE-14R Blaster, a blast effect that is compatible for all three weapons, a MSE-6 Mouse Droid, two sets of interchangeable hand sculpts and a trigger finger left hand.

All of the blasters also look accurate to the films and can be placed in the open grip or trigger finger hands. The blast effect attachment can be tricky to get it through the barrel, and at least on the rifle it tends to turn to it’s side and doesn’t stay straight forward.

The Mouse droid is nicely detailed and is cast in black, with a silver wash. The wheels don’t rotate, and they are different sizes from front to back.

His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed torso, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

The larger size allows you to get more of the details in, and this is surely the case on this new Stormtrooper figure. Even the joints are tighter compared to the TBS 6″ line, and it should be noted that the white used on this figure is also more accurate.

Overall, the Imperial Stormtrooper is a fantastic figure and this scale works extremely well for the brand. This is the first army building character in this line, and he’s surely worth adding multiples to your collection.
