Fisher-Price – Masters of the Universe Little People – Skeletor’s Stronghold Set Review

Fisher-Price is offering a new Masters of the Universe Little People – Skeletor’s Stronghold Set that is exclusively available at Mattel Creations for $30, which includes repaints of He-Man and Skeletor, and two new characters offered in this set, including Moss Man and Faker. Fans may remember the first box set offering 2 years ago in August 2020 of their Little People Masters Of The Universe Box Set, which saw the first releases of He-Man and Skeletor, along with Man-At-Arms and Beast Man.

Little People is one of the most recognized brands in toys, which started out in the 1960’s as Play Family People, and was originally wooden figures and play sets. Since then, it has changed into plastic and the style of these figures have also changed, with more animated likeness and much better paint applications. These figures are designed for ages 1-101, as specified on the front of the package, which acknowledges  that adults will also be picking this up and these are not just for kids anymore.

Thank you to Mattel and Fisher-Price for sending along their Masters of the Universe Little People – Skeletor’s Stronghold Set for review.

Availability: August 2022 – Exclusive to Mattel Creations

The Masters of the Universe Little People Skeletor’s Stronghold set comes inside a box with artwork inspired from Castle Grayskull, with the green stones on all sides, and the Little People logo on the front. Inside, the window box packaging with nicely done artwork, including the Masters logo, labels that are part of the artwork, images and logo’s on the sides, and an animated inspired artwork with a description on the back. The Little People figures come packaged inside a plastic tray, with purple applied to look like Snake Mountain. The backdrop also nicely done with an image of Snake Mountain, bio’s and images of the characters are featured on the sides, and the back showcases the giant snake with purple stones of Snake Mountain.

Each of these are figures stylized into the modern era Little People animated design, and each figure is made of plastic with some excellent paint applications capturing their likenesses. At the bottom of these figures is a hole to put your thumb inside, and this is done to use these as finger puppets.

He-Man is repainted with a lighter flesh tone, and is painted in metallic silver and red chest armor and Power Sword, an orange belt, and wrist bands, and light brown lion cloth and boots. His hair is also yellow, and his facial expression includes a smirk on his face.

Skeletor is repainted with yellow and green deco on his face, blue hoodie and armor, blue skin tone, and a black lion cloth. His facial deco is also given a darker tone for his eyes, nose and a mouth.

Moss Man is repainted from Beast Man, and is given a green fur, yellow armor, a grey symbol on his chest, and black lion cloth. The facial details are also the same and painted in black.

Faker is a repainted of He-Man, with a blue skin tone, orange hair, a orange harness, black bracelets, purple boots and a black lion cloth. He is holding his Power Sword, which is in the same shade of orange as the harness.

Overall, you have to acknowledge and appreciate what Fisher-Price is doing with Masters of the Universe, which is still a new brand for them as there hasn’t been too many offerings thus far. Having a new set of Little People in this line is an exciting time to be a collector, and the new deco and characters offered in this set fits in nicely with the first offering. Hopefully, this isn’t the last time we’ll see Masters of the Universe offered in Little People style and hopefully this is only the beginning. This is a great set with phenomenal packaging that fans will surely enjoy.
