S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO Goku Figure Review

Bandai Collectibles are offering a line of S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO figures, which includes Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Gohan, as well as Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 that were available on Premium Bandai. This line is based on the new movie, which follows the events of the Dragon Ball Super series.

Thank you to Bandai Collectibles for sending along their S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO Goku Figure for review.

Availability: July 2022

Goku is packaged in the standard S.H. Figuarts window box, with artwork and images of the figure on the front, sides and back.

Bandai Collectibles newly released Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO Goku is given some new deco compared to the previous release, including a different shade of orange blue on the outfit, blue undershirt and new dark blue boots with a red stripe. The figure is a repaint from the Super Saiyan God figure ((A Saiyan Raised On Earth version), with the head sculpt used for the standard black hair release from last year. It also should be noted that the symbol on his chest is larger compared to these other releases, with the symbol on his back looking a little bit smaller than previous offerings. The uniform has sculpted wrinkles to make it look more realistic, and the sleeves of the shirt are separate pieces on the shoulders to allow a full range of motion in the articulation.

Goku is given four face plates, including normal, grinning face, screaming face, and a surprised face, which can be swapped out by removing the front part of the hair, and then the face plate as previously seen on existing S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball figures. Each of these plates feature a great expression and allow the possibility of unlimited poses inspired from various scene’s from the series.

Goku also includes 9 interchangeable hand sculpts, including closed fisted, Kamehameha attack hands, open hands, and karate position hands, and a teleportation left hand all inspired from the series.

The articulation is standard for the line, and he is fully capable of creating many poses inspired from the series. Along with the face plates and interchangeable hands, there’s a ton of different ways to pose him.

Overall, Goku is a great looking figure and comes with some nicely done interchangeable parts. This is a great catch up figure, as well as a beautiful update that you desperately need for your collection. Goku is a must for any Dragon Ball Z collection, so make sure to pick him up, including at one of stores listed below:
