NECA Toys Disney’s Gargoyles gets some major updates in the collection with their newly released Bronx and Demona 7″ scale Ultimate figures that are available now. Demona was once part of Goliath’s clan but she was alone for several thousand years. In 1994, she along with Xanatos brings the castle to Manhattan and breaks the spell of slumber and wakes Goliath and the rest of the Gargoyle’s after 1,000 years. Demona is an essential character in the franchise and we’re given a beautiful modern update from the vintage 1990’s toyline. Demona includes a particle beam weapon, bazooka, Grimorum Arcanorum book that opens, and interchangeable heads and hands.

Demona is packaged on a window box with an opening flap, with beautifully done cover art on the front, figure images on the sides, and back. Also on the back is a description, and a look at additional characters offered in this line. The opening flap reveals another image of Demona, and in the window you can see her packaged in a plastic tray along with all of her accessories.
Demona comes packaged unassembled, and you need to place the wings and tail on to complete her look. Demona looks stunning, and she comes in a light blue skin tone and some beige clothing with a black wash over it, that is given a sculpted texture, a brown belt with a gold belt buckle, and some gold jewelry including bracelets around her right ankle, left bicep, earrings on both face plates, and a crown on her forehead. The wings and tail snap into place as they did for Goliath and Thailog, but on her it feels a bit more fragile given she has a leaner sculpted and the pegs on the wings could be a potential breakage issue if you’re not extremely careful on placing them in and out of her back. The wings themselves are equally as impressive with the other figures, with nicely done sculpted details and textures, and that leathery look on them really came out quite nice.
She also has the features as other Gargoyles, including sharp finger and toe nails, and her head sculpt includes long red hair that is given some great sculpting, and goes down her back. The face plates swap in and out easily, and each are given nicely done facial details, including the one with her angry expression with sharp fangs and red eyes.
Included are a nice rage of accessories, including an extra face plate, two additional sets of hands, a particle beam weapon, bazooka, Grimorum Arcanorum book that opens and she can hold.
Each of the accessories features some great paint applications and sculpting, especially the book with words on the pages. The particle beam and bazooka can be held best in her left grip hand, and you can make great poses as she points it at someone.
Her articulation is also standard for the line, including a ball jointed head, swivel-hinged wings, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes.
Overall, Demona is amazingly done, and fans are surely going to want this figure to their collection. Every aspect about this line has been well thought out and executed, especially the engineering, paint applications, and overall likeness to the quality. This is the first female Gargoyle we’ve gotten and she will surely win the hearts of collectors, as the likeness and attention to detail is just spot on, and there are some elements to her animated likeness as well as giving her a bit of realistic details.
