NECA Toys Disney’s Gargoyles Ultimate Brooklyn Figure Review

NECA is one step closer to a complete Gargoyle’s collection with their recently released Brooklyn and Broadway figures, which are both currently shipping. Brooklyn joins Goliath, Demona, Hudson, Bronx, Broadway, Thailog, and their upcoming Elisa, Angela, Xanatos, Steel Clan Robot and Goliath (video game version). Brooklyn is a member of the Manhattan Clan, a survivor of the Wyvern Clan, and he became Goliath’s second in command in the series.

Thank you to NECA Toys for sending along their Disney’s Gargoyles Ultimate Brooklyn figure for review.

Availability: May 2023

Brooklyn is packaged in a window box with an opening flap, with artwork on the cover, images of the figure on the sides, images, a description and a look at additional figures on the back. The opening flap includes another image, and on the right he is packaged in a plastic tray along with his accessories.

Brooklyn makes his debut in this line and is given the same realistic style that we’ve been seeing. Brooklyn comes in his brown skin, with sculpted muscles and a paint wash, dark blue sculpted cloth with a brown belt and metallic gold belt buckle as his only clothing. The head sculpt comes with a hinged jaw, metallic white hair with a wash, and nicely done facial details including the tongue, teeth, eyes, ears and horns.

The wings and tail require assembly as they come unattached in the package, which plug into the back and buttocks. The tail is bendy, which allows custom posing and also serves as stability to help him stand. The wingspan is 20″, 10″ for each wing and requires a lot of space to display, along with the rest of the figures (with the exception of Bronx) that includes wings.

Brooklyn includes an extra interchangeable head, three sets of hands (closed fisted, open claws, and open grip), torn pages, a lance and sunglasses.

The sunglasses works for either of the heads, and just rests on top. These have dark blue lens and a black frame.

The torn pages have text on both sides that you cannot read, and can be held in his open grip hand.

The lance is painted in a dark metallic grey, and held in in the open grip hands, but works best in the right hand. The lance is long, and used as a defensive weapon.

He is also fully articulated, which includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, ball jointed torso upper and swivel waist, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles, and hinged toes. The tail and wings are also a swivel-hinge.

Overall, Brooklyn is amazingly done, and fans are surely going to want this figure to their collection. Every aspect about this line has been well thought out and executed, especially the engineering, paint applications, and overall likeness to the quality. Brooklyn is an essential part of the Gargoyle’s line,  and he will surely win the hearts of collectors, as the likeness and attention to detail is just spot on. Make sure to jump in on his line as fans, especially me, have been waiting for someone to pick up this brand and make figures like this for quite sometime. You can order now at our sponsors below:
