At long last Mr. Fantastic joins Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select line, and this has surely been a very long wait for fans waiting eagerly to complete their Fantastic Four collection. Mr. Fantastic is the scientists, the leader and the brains behind the team. He comes inspired from the classic comic book appearance and is available now to purchase at your local comic shop and online retailer.

Mr. Fantastic is packaged on a blister card with a wraparound cover, and a plastic tray. The front of the package has the 4 logo, and the Marvel Select logo on top, with the side featuring an image of the figure, and the back some additional images and a description.
Mr. Fantastic comes in his classic blue and black outfit, which is inspired from the classic comic book series. The blue part of the outfit have a dark blue wash, with the Fantastic Four logo sculpted on his chest that is black and white. The head sculpt has a great likeness to his classic appearance, with nicely done facial details, with grey sculpted hair on the bottom, and brown on the top.
Included with Mr. Fantastic and three additional interchangeable hands (one right that can hold the Nullifier, and two left), the Nullifier that is the only divide in the universe to frighten Galactus, stretched arm with open hand, stretched arm with closed fisted hand, stretched body that wraparounds, stretched torso, and a stretched neck piece that is placed between the head and body.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball joined torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
The interchangeable stretch arms work great for the figure, and re-creates the iconic ability as seen in the comics. These are not bendy however, but have closed fisted and open hands.
This neck piece was actually a surprise to me as it wasn’t shown or mentioned in the description. This re-creates the ability of his neck being stretched so his head can be lifted from the shoulders.
This body base is something is a dream come true, an iconic move that Mr. Fantastic uses from time to time, and one that has only been offered with his Minimates release. The body is given sculpted folds and curves, with a dark blue wash and black trim at the bottom where is feet are. This can be used to wrap around an opponent such as Dr. Doom, as he fits through it.
As the cape for Dr. Doom is a soft plastic, that doesn’t get in the way of this base, so it’s a perfect fit.
Overall, The Fantastic Four are three quarters complete and all that remains is the Invisible Woman, Sue Richards, which is up for pre-order. Mr. Fantastic is a phenomenal figure that fans will love and it’s long overdue to get him into his line. The interchangeable parts and accessories are a lot of fun to swap out and display, and makes this figure a must-buy for fans. Make sure to add him to your collection now, especially if you’ve been waiting for over a decade for his release in this line!
