Diamond Select Toys newly released Lord of the Rings Select Series 5 Lurtz and Boromir figures joins the already impressive line-up based on The Fellowship of the Ring. Lurtz is the leader of the Uruk-hai that serves under Saruman the White and tasked to capture the hobbits and bring them to him unharmed. Lurtz is also responsible for the death of Boromir, and met his own demise at the hands of Aragorn.
Lurtz comes with face paint of the Eye of Sauron and Hand of Saruman, and includes an interchangeable head, a sword, shield, bow, quiver and three arrows.

Lurtz is packaged on a window box with nicely done artwork, along with windows on the sides, and images and a description on the back.
Lurtz comes in an all black outfit that is sculpted to look like leather, with some sculpted textures and details that includes metallic silver buckles and small circular gems, and a belt with a hook to hold an accessory. the legs have shin guards that are painted in a dark grey, and boots with armor at the top of the foot.
He comes with a dark reddish-brown skin color, and both of the head sculpts have the face painting of Eye of Sauron and Hand of Saruman painted in white on the forehead and parts of the cheeks. The head sculpts includes a snarl, and growing head sculpts, with hair going down the back and in a bo-tie at the top.
Lurtz includes an interchangeable head, a sword, shield, bow, quiver and three arrows.
The quiver fits over his shoulder, but not over his torso as the handle isn’t big enough to fit over the head. The bow fits in either open grip hand, and he can also hold an arrow to give the impression he’s firing it at an opponent. The hook on his belt seems to only be able to hold the bow, but it looks odd holding the bow in that position so you may want to disregard that the hook is even on the belt.
The sword and shield look great and pay great likenesses to what you would remember from the film. Both are painted in a dark grey with a wash, to look like iron, and he has a firm grip on both. You may also want to loosen up the hands with a blow dryer to soften up the plastic to get the accessories on, as that’s the safest and best way to do it without creating a breakage issue.
His articulation is standard for a Select line, including a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Diamond Select Toys has come out with another great Lord of the Rings character to add to your collection and this is the best Lutrz figure on the market to-date. You are definitely going to need him to bolster up your Orc ranks, so make sure grab him and other figures now!
