April O’Neil is a new design that Super7 created, using the idea that she has been trained by the Turtles. Rat King’s head sculpts also doesn’t match his vintage toy release, so it raises the question what’s going on? The line started out with bring modern updates to the late 1980’s, and 1990’s vintage toy line by Playmates Toys, but appears to have been expanded beyond that, such as this new April O’Neil figure. It remains the question as to the reaction of these figures from the fans, as well as if Super7 will go back to sticking with just vintage toy updates, or continue to offer surprises such as this, including this head sculpt for Rat King. It’s uncertain at this time the direction that Super7 is going, are they going to go back to vintage toy designs, offer their own take, or do both?
