Hasbro’s newly released G.I. Joe Classified Series Carl “Doc” Greer Figure is given a modern day update from his vintage o-ring days of the 1980’s. Doc is a field medic and joined the G.I. team after completing medical school. Doc comes with many of the same accessories that the 1980’s o-ring figure had, but also comes with some new additions that bring him up to today’s standards.
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Series Carl “Doc” Greer Figure for review.
Availability: July 2024 at BigBadToyStore
Doc is packaged in the standard window box packaging, with logo’s and images on the front, sides and back. He comes packaged in a plastic tray along with his accessories for safe keeping.
Carl “Doc” Greer is inspired from his classic look and given a modern update in design as he is not part of the 6″ Retro collection. He comes in his beige medic uniform, with brown straps his legs with a holster for his taser, a vest with removable pouches, a red belt with brown pouches and a silver belt buckle, and black boots. He also has a Medic symbol on his left shoulder, a symbol on his right, and the helmet includes pill bottles on the sides. The vest’s pouches can be moved around to your delight, with a cross on one, a holster for his flare gun, and the rest are pouches. There are also non-removable accessories, such as an orange flashlight, and a blue pen.
His head sculpt looks great, and he has some grey hair on the sides, which is something that the 80’s o-ring figure did not have, and nicely done facial details.
Doc includes a helmet, glasses, 6 pouches (1 is a holster for the flare gun) that plug into the vest, a taser, an orange flare gun and a folding stretcher.
The stretcher can be placed on his back (first remove the pouches on the back) by plugging it into the vest, and the peg will also slide into the hole on his back as well.
His helmet and glasses can be placed on his head, with the helmet going on first, and then sliding the glasses through the sides of the helmet. The flare gun and taser can be placed on either hand, which includes a trigger finger.
A 6″ G.I. Joe can be placed on the stretcher, and carried by other G.I. Joe members as there are handles on the sides.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Doc is given a great sculpt that is modernized with some new elements that you have not seen before and a welcome additions to the Classified 6″ line. I personally love the vest and pouches and how you can move them around. The accessories looks great, but he does lose his Flare Launcher that he had back in the 80’s, which is replaced with the flare gun. This is surely an essential character and figure to your collection, so make sure to grab him now!
