Hasbro is offering their G.I. Joe Classified Retro Beach Head figure on retro inspired blister card packaging from the 1980’s. Figures on this packaging pay tribute to their 1980’s o-ring action figures. Beach Head was first released by Hasbro in 1986, and his original accessories included the Submachine gun, backpack and ammo case. This new release in the 6″ line offers more accessories, along with some modern elements such as holsters, and offers the classic vest and green colors seen on the o-ring figure.
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Series Retro Collection Beach Head Figure for review.

Beach Head is packaged on a blister cards that pay tribute to the 1980’s G.I. Joe blister cards, with beautifully done artwork on the front, with a bio that you can cut out on the back, and images of the Cobra Eel, Snow Serpent, and Beach Head. He comes in plastic trays, and you need to cut the plastic around to take them out of the package.
Beach Head is inspired from his 1986 o-ring G.I. Joe figure and this is certainly a great update to that original figure. He comes in his green mask and shirt, black vest with light grey and red accessories, a black belt with holsters connected to that and around his thighs, brown and green camouflage pants, black gloves and boots. Most of the sculpt is reuse from Retro Snake Eyes, and his head and neck are reuse from his previous release. What is new is the vest and belt. The holsters on his thighs can hold accessories, including a knife, the pistol and the grenades. The Sub-machine gun also can fit in the holster but it’s technically not for that. There is also a holster for the other knife on his right boot.
Included with Beach Head is a base, backpack, crossbow, Sub-machine gun with a silencer, pistol with a silencer, 2 grenades, a Satchel bag and 2 knives.
The Sub-machine gun includes a silencer and a removable ammo piece at the bottom.
The pistol also includes a silencer, and the crossbow was originally painted and sculpted detail in the o-ring pack, but is now removable in this 6″ release. The crossbow can fit on the back of the backpack, which the handle just plugs into the hole in the backpack.
The knives and grenades look great and can also be placed in his hands. The knives are probably reuse, and we saw these same as from Retro Snake Eyes. Interestling enough, the original o-ring Beach Head from 1986 only came with a Sub-machine gun, backpack and a ammo case, and this new release comes with more accessories while paying a great tribute to his classic look.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ab crunch torso waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Beach Head is given a great sculpt that is modernized with some new elements that you have not seen before and a welcome additions to the Classified 6″ line. I personally love the new accessories and the fact that most can be stored on his body. This is surely an essential character and figure to your collection, so make sure to grab him now at BigBadToyStore.
