Super7’s latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ultimates! wave are available now, which includes Punker Don, Robotic Bebop, Triceraton, Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo, and Guerilla Gorilla. These figures are inspired from the vintage toy line that many of us buying these grew up with, which were inspired from the classic cartoon series. The Triceratons have the appearance of dinosaurs but are a hostile race of aliens that wish to conquer Earth and called it part of their “Triceraton Empire“. In the series, Donatella saved Earth by convincing the Triceratons that he was the ruler of Earth and the animatronic dinosaurs from the Natural History Museum were his minions. He also used Shredder’s powerful Micro Blaster to convince the Triceratons that he, Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo were far superior than the Triceratons powers and abilities causing them to retreat and return home..
This wave is one of the last ones sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios, as they sculpted up to wave 9 and Super7 sculpted wave 10 and beyond in-house.

Triceraton is packaged in a window box with a slipcover, with artwork on the front of the purple slipcover, and the classic logo on the back. Once removed, the packaging is consistent with the rest of the line, including nicely done artwork, the classic logo, and his name underneath on the bottom. On the back is more great artwork, including a bio and company logo’s.
Triceraton is given the ULTIMATES! treatment and inspired from the 1990 figure by Playmates Toys, which is one of my personal favorite figures from that line.The Triceraton alien race has a distinct appearance to Earth’s Triceratops, which as you know is a dinosaur. This figure is given some modern day treatment and sculpting that the original release did not have, including an upgrade in accessories, articulation, and details. His skin tone is given a sculpted texture and orange, with metallic silver chest armor, a blue stomach, green pants that are torn, a black belt, and maroon and metallic silver gauntlets that are spiked. His right hand is also gloved while his left hand has a brace. knuckle.
The vintage toy has a grey belt that was removable, but this one is black with metallic silver accessories that are non-removable. The rats was also on the vintage toy’s belt, which is also on this one with X’s on the eyes, sculpted fur and in a dark grey.
The head sculpt is phenomenal and accurate to the source material. Just like the vintage figure, with a dark grey bandage on the left horn, and nicely done facial details that gives this character a great likeness to the source material.
Included with Triceraton is a Neutron Neutralizer, Laser Phaser, Unearthly Utility Belt, Arm Blade, 6 interchangeable hands, Breathing Apparatus, Wrist Communicator and 2 Grenades and a Rat Snack.
The Neutron Neutralizer and Laser Phaser fits in his open grip hands and are mostly in metallic silver. The Neutron Neutralizer came with the vintage figure, and this is the more memorable weapon. The extra Rat can hang from his belt, but does tend to fall off easily.
The Arm Blade connects to his left forearm and used to cut through objects. The Wrist Communicator also connects on the left wrist and used as his communication device. This can also swivel open and closed.
The Grenades can fit into his open grip hands, and The Breathing Apparatus fits over his mouth and there is a strap that wraps around the back of the head. It’s also connected to a tube that has a device that can be held in his left hand.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, swivel waist, swivel tail, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, and hinged ankles.
Overall, Triceraton is an excellent figure with a great likeness to the source material and fits in perfectly with new modern line. Every aspect about this figure looks great and his army building potential is a great reason to buy multiples. Make sure to grab him now while you can!
