Super7’s latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ultimates! wave are available now, which includes Punker Don, Robotic Bebop, Triceraton, Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo, and Guerilla Gorilla. These figures are inspired from the vintage toy line that many of us buying these grew up with, which were inspired from the classic cartoon series. Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo is inspired from the vintage toy from 1995, and upgraded for his Ultimates! release.
This wave is one of the last ones sculpted by Four Horsemen Studios, as they sculpted up to wave 9 and Super7 sculpted wave 10 and beyond in-house.

Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo is packaged in a window box with a slipcover, with artwork on the front of the purple slipcover, and the classic logo on the back. Once removed, the packaging is consistent with the rest of the line, including nicely done artwork, the classic logo, and his name underneath on the bottom. On the back is more great artwork, including a bio and company logo’s.
Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo is inspired from his vintage 1995 figure and has been updated in the Ultimates! line. The vintage figure had some of his accessories and also in different tones of green, orange and gold metallic deco, and if you look that figure up you can see how much of an improvement this release is. Michelangelo is similar in design to Metalhead, using Michelangelo’s orange color, the M on the belt, and his iconic nunchucks.
He comes with three head sculpts, each one is different with two a unique facial expression, and the last one that allows light to pass through the brain and eyes.
Also included are three sets of interchangeable hands (closed fisted, open grip, and open hands), a Finger whip hand, 2 Real metal chain nunchucks, 4 Grenades, 2 Radical Robo-Chuks, Portable Party Pack, and a Radar/Foot Blaster.
The Portable Party Pack connects to the back of Michelangelo’s shell and the straps plug into the holes on the front of his chest. This was one of a few accessories that the vintage figure had, and the Radar/Foot Blaster plugs into the top of it. This can also swivel around, and this also came with the vintage figure.
The grenades can fit into his open grip hands, and I found that two of them can also be stored on the front of the belt.
The finger whip hand is his most fun accessory, and the name of it speaks for itself. The tip of his finger opens up and the whip comes shooting out, which is a great idea for this figure.
Michelangelo also comes with a set or chainlink Nunchucks, which can fit into his open grip hands, but the handle is a bit loose in them.
The vintage figure came with just one of these Radical Robo-Chuks, which was comparable with the top of the backpack. This release however is not the case, as these work as propellers that plug into his wrists to chop up some Foot bots.
He is also fully articulated, and includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Warrior Metalhead Michelangelo is an excellent figure with a great likeness to the source material and fits in perfectly with new modern line. Every aspect about this figure looks great and there is a lot to love about this figure. It should be noted that he is a bit shorter than Raphael and the other Turtles. Make sure to grab him now while you can!
