McFarlane Toys continues to impress the community with their Batman Classic 1966 Tv Seres line, which includes 6″ scaled figures, playsets and vehicles. The newly released Batman Classic 1966 TV Series DC Retro Batgirl Cycle is just one perfect example of how long overdue this line is for the community and given that the show is timeless amongst Batman fans it’s just astonishing to me how long it has taken any top company to give this show the attention and toy line it deserves. There have been other companies in the past, such as Mattel, Mezco Toyz and Funko in recent years (among other companies that have done one or more figures), but it has never been done with the amount of characters and figures, playsets and vehicles quite like this.
During New York Comic-Con 2024, our very own Rob got to interview Todd McFarlane and asked about the continuation of the Batman ’66 line. Interestingly enough, if McFarlane Toys continues this line, Todd said that the next stop might be a “What If” offerings. For example, what if Martian Manhunter appeared in the show, and make a figure out of that. That’s interesting but I personally don’t know how that will do for them. My advice would be to offer henchmen of the villains, such as episode based, or offer the henchmen from the movie. That would be perfect for those that want to expand the line. They also did not release of Batcopter, which I believe to be essential. That interview can be found on YouTube.

The Batgirl Cycle is packaged in a window-less box, with artwork and the ’66 Batman logo inspired from the classic TV Series. One the back is an image of the Batcycle with Batgirl riding it.
The Batgirl Cycle is inspired from the 1966 Batman Classic TV Series and this captures the appearance of this vehicle perfectly. The Batgirl Cycle measurers just over 7″ long, around 3 1/2″ wide, and under 6″ tall. It features two rotating tires, which are black and grey, with a purple cover with orange trim in the front, and a kickstand that works. The cycle is painted in Batgirl’s colors, including purple, with orange trim, along with white and grey, with the black tires. It includes a windshield, one rearview mirror, handlebars, a white bo-tie in the back, and a. red rear light. There are also orange ribbons on both sides of the seats, which are sculpted.
The Batgirl Cycle can seat Batgirl perfectly, but given her limited articulation in the legs you’re also going to be limited in how to seat her.
The Batgirl Cycle also has a front hear light, which they left grey, which is something that I wish they had painted. The cycle also fits perfectly in the Batcave playset, which was used as the diorama in this photoshoot.
Comparing it to Batman’s Cycle, it fits in with this vehicle perfectly as well and both have their own distinct likeness.
Overall, Batgirl’s Cycle is another great offering from McFarlane and an essential part of the vehicle part of this line. Make sure to grab this, and other offerings now at BigBadToyStore!
