Bo-Katan Kryze received a new figure inspired from The Mandalorian and inspired from the scene where she battles Moff Gideon. Bo-Katan Kryze is given some new updates in this release, including the Darksaber that she fought Moff Gideon for in battle to claim this weapon to unite all of the Mandalorian people.
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Hasbro’s Star Wars The Vintage Collection Bo-Katan Kryze (Plazir-15) Figure for review.
Availability: November 2024
Bo-Katan Kryze is packaged on a blister card with logo’s and an appearance of him as a hologram on the front, a look at the figure and package on the back, and a description.
Bo-Katan is almost exactly as she was when she was released back in 2022, but given some new updates and the Darksaber that some fans might not have realized. She comes in her dark grey, black, light blue, and brown belt with the pistol holsters outfit and armor, which is how she appeared on the Mandalorian series. What is new is an updated facial likeness, and the right shoulder guard. These are just tiny changes, but it should also be of note that Hasbro went ahead and gave her a different shade of blue, which is more of a mutated blue compared to the darker blue that the first release had.
She includes the Darksaber, which is the same one that came with Moff Gideon, and this is a new release for her.
Bo-Katan also includes two blasters, which can fit in the holsters and won’t fall out, or placed in her hands, which she also has a good grip on them. These pistols are left unpainted, whereas the 2022 release had painted blasters that had brown and metallic silver deco. These are left black.
The helmet is also basically the same as the first release, and is given blue, light grey and black, with a dark grey antenna.
These comparison images shows the new deco, and if you look closely, you’d notice that the chest also has some new black deco, and the back of the legs has dark grey on the back of the lower legs, and dark grey boots.
Her articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Bo-Katan is an excellent figure and one you need to add to complete your Mandalorian collection. Even though she’s mostly a repaint, getting the Darksaber is a nice touch for this release. The only real complaint is that there needs to be more new-ness offered in this line, as well as The Black Series to get fans excited again. Keep making the same characters, even with updates is getting tiresome, and given how Hasbro hasn’t even completed Original Trilogy characters, yet alone by favitote series, The Clone Wars, you’d hope that they start listening to their fanbase and collectors and offer these characters. You can grab Bo-Katan now at BigBadToyStore!
