Jada Toys is filling a void in the action figure market with their 6″ scale Scooby Doo action figures, inspired by the classic 1979’s cartoon. While other companies have offered Scooby Doo, often in other scales, none have had as good of a likeness and attention to detail as these, allowing fans to finally have really good figures. This wave includes Shaggy, The Creeper and Mummy of Ankha. In the classic 1970’s series, all the monsters were human in disguises, and it wasn’t until the 1980’s that the monsters were real, including some notable Scooby Doo films during that time.

Shaggy, The Creeper and Mummy of Ankha are packaged in window boxes, with artwork inspired from the series, including images on both sides, and the back includes images of the figures with a spooky backdrop behind them. Each figure comes in a plastic tray along with their accessories, and the backdrop inside the packaging is a haunted house that is also inspired from the cartoon.
Shaggy is inspired by the cartoon, and comes in his classic green shirt, brown pants, black shoes, with the cloths on the baggy side, with sculpted folds and a smooth sculpt.
Shaggy’s head sculpts features a great likeness to the source material, with painted chin hair, blonde sculpted hair, and nicely done facial details. The open mouth head that yelling as he’s running away from the monster.
Shaggy includes two sets of interchangeable hands, a box of Scooby Snacks, and a Scooby Snack treat he can hold.
Shaggy’s articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles
Mummy of Ankha is wrapped in bandages and is light grey with a wash over it, showing the age on the bandages. Some of the bandages are sticking out, including the right arm and right calve.
Mummy of Ankha includes two head sculpts, one bandaged and white for the eyes and mouth, and Dr. Najib. He also includes badges that wrap around the head, and inspired from the series when the Scooby gang unwrapped the bandages to reveal who was underneath the mask.
He includes two sets of interchangeable hand sculpts, including neutral and closed fisted.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball jointed neck, butterfly shoulders, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles
The Creeper comes in his green jacket and pants, black undershirt and boots, and green skin. The outfit has sculpted folds, and the jacket over the torso is made of a soft plastic.
The monster head sculpt comes in green skin, yellow eyes, black pupils, a black open mouth and brown sculpted hair. He also comes with a mask that is being pulled off, which is placed over Mr. Carswell’s head. Mr. Carswell’s head comes with removable mask, white hair, and nicely done facial details.
The Creeper also includes two sets of interchangeable hands.
The Creeper’s articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel hinged wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles
Overall, Jada Toys’s design team has done a great job capturing the likenesses of these characters into action figures, and these are better than anything that’s come before. There is a real opportunity here for them and they have an opportunity to really offer a great line of Scooby Doo figures. The Scooby gang are essential, but so are the franchises monsters that were shown at the beginning. I personally want to see this line expand, including shows such as “The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo,” along with others.
