Hasbro is filling some more Cobra ranks this year with the release of their Desert Scorpion figure, which are inspired by their 1991 release in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero 3 3/4″ o-ring figure line, and given some new modern day elements and accessories. The Desert Scorpion has to learn to live in the desert and learn to work as a team in order to survive in their surroundings. This is used as a punishment for Vipers that do not follow orders, and if they survive for one year with a spotless record, they can return to their previous rank from which they came from..
Thank you to BigBadToyStore for sending along Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Series #180 Cobra Desert Scorpion & SKRP10N-25 Figure Set for review.Â
Availability: October 2025
Desert Scorpion and SKRP10N-25 are packaged in a window box, with logo’s and artwork on all sides, images of the figures, and the back includes an action shot with some great toy photography.

Desert Scorpion is inspired by his 1991 vintage o-ring figure, along with some of the accessories from not only the 1991 release, but the 2013 release as well. He is also given some new elements including a long cloak, sheaths for his knives, a new backpack that does not include the missile, and an interchangeable faceplate. He comes in his black, yellow, brown and metallic gold outfit, including a brown belt with a metallic gold belt buckle. He is also given brown and yellow gloves, black pants with brown pads on the hips and metallic gold shin guards, brown and yellow shoes, and a harness with the vintage-inspired red grenades sculpted on, which also is a brown chest armor, with a black strap around it. The cloak is made of soft goods, and wraps around the neck and hangs down to the calves.

The head sculpt is given a good likeness, with an added black visor above the goggles, and the face plate is metallic gold whereas the vintage figure had a yellow mask. He also has his antenna on the side of his head, which was also seen on the vintage figure.

SKRP10N-25 is also inspired by his vintage figure, but given much more details, articulation and much more menacing looking compared to his original counterpart. He features a great likeness to a giant scorpion, with sculpted details and textures, 8 articulated legs, 2 pinches that are articulated, shark teeth, four eyes, and an articulated tail with 5 ball joints. The front arms are also articulated with two ball joints.

Desert Scorpion is fully geared up in the first two images above, with the backpack, Guisarme attached to the side and inspired by the accessory that came with the 2013 release, a connecting cord, which connects to the side of the head (I missed that when working on photography). Also shown above is the Sub-machine gun with a removable ammo.

The Guisarme includes a long black and brown handle with silver blade, and can also be held in one or both hands.

Also included is Grapple launcher with removable hook and attached line, which is an all new accessory for him. The face plate shows his face for the first-time, which is given a black sculpted beard and nicely done facial details, two knives, and some new claws that replace the vintage inspired digger devices.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed torso and waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, hinged and rocker ankles.

Overall, Desert Scorpion and SKRP10N-25 are excellent figures with a great likeness and updates in this scale. This is a great offering for the Cobra team so you’re going to want to pick this up now. Both figures are the best interpretations of the character we’ve ever gotten, so this is going to be a memorable release. Make sure to grab him now at BigBadToyStore.
