Hasbro’s Star Wars The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Court Denizens Figures are meant as a companion piece to their Sail Barge and Skiff Vehicles and inspired by their appearance in Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. These characters were shown as part of Jabba’s henchmen, and had notable appearances in the Sail Barge and on the Skiff. This box set is given updated deco and better likenesses to the characters than what has come before, and includes Taym Dren-garen, Tessek, Velken Tezeri, and Ree-Yees.

The Denziens are packaged in a window box with artwork and logo’s on all sides, including an image of the Sail Barge on the back. The figures themselves come on blister cards, with images and artwork on both sides, including a look at additional figures on the back.

Ree Yees is probably the most least exciting figure in this box set, as the character has had a number of notable releases in line already, including 2014’s The Black Series 3 3/4″ line, and The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Palace (Adventure Set), so there isn’t much here that you already don’t have assuming you already own those other offerings, or at least the Denziens 2023 box set, which this box set is an upgrade from. This new offering however is probably the best offering of the character to-date, given the updated facial deco and likeness given to the character.
Ree Yees comes in his dark brown jacket and pants, with light grey stripes on the sides of the pants, a light brown belt with light grey accessories sculpted to it, beige boots, light grey knee pads, and tan hands that are extra bulky and are given a sculpted texture to them. His head sculpt features that of a Gran male, with three eyes, goat-like snout, antennae-like nubs on the tops of their head, and ears out to the sides.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel wrists, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, and swivel-hinged knees. Sadly, he still does not have ankle articulation, which would have been great and a good selling point if they had given him that upgrade.

Ree Yees includes two blasters, which can be placed into his hands.

Tessek is the only figure in the set to include soft goods, including the cloak and outfit, which is a nice touch. The cloak is removable, and the white soft goods outfit has a gold brace around his torso holding it into place. He also has white pants under the skirt, and black boots, along with blue bracelets around his wrists. He is a Quarren male, and has the species characteristics including squid-like tentacles on his face, and three long fingers on his hands.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Tessek includes one blaster, which can be placed into his right hand.

Taym Dren-garen is an obscure character for sure, and goes great with the Skiff. He comes in a brown vest, with a light brown shirt underneath, white long sleeve shirt, light brown pants, dark brown boots, and a light brown belt with pouches. The hood and helmet piece is removable, which has the same colors as the outfit, revealing his head sculpt and actor likeness. This is a nice surprise and wherever Hasbro’s team got the inspiration from or source material for this (maybe Lucasfilm?), it made the release even better by doing this. The head sculpt itself has nicely done facial details, which are improved since his 2023 release.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Taym Dren-garen includes one blaster, which can be placed into his right or left hands.

Velken Tezeri is another obscure character that is given a new release and update to the 2023 offering, and pretty much everything said about Taym Dren-garen can be said here as well. He comes in his tan vest with a wash, beige pants, brown boots, brown bands around his wrists, and a brown belt with a holster for his pistol. The hood and helmet is also one piece that can be removed, in dark brown, and a silver helmet, and once it’s removed you see the character and actor’s likeness. The facial details look great and also given an update to the 2023 release.
His articulation includes a ball jointed head, ball hinged shoulders, swivel-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, swivel-hinged knees, hinged and rocker ankles.

Velken Tezeri includes one blaster, which can be placed into his right or left hands.
Overall, Jabba the Hutt’s Denziens are offered for one purpose, to bolster this gangs ranks and to fill-up your Sail Barge and Skiff vehicles in your collection. This set is essential for that reason, and given some nice updates to their earlier release, making this an essential purchase for collectors. Hopefully with this new set, there are additional Jabba the Hutt characters coming, from Jabba’s palace “court members, henchmen, and creatures as seen in Return of the Jedi. Even updated releases to characters such as Ephant Mon would be great. Make sure to grab this set now at BigBadToyStore.
