Marvel Shop and Diamond Select Toys are offering the entire team of Guardians of the Galaxy based on the comic book in the Marvel Select 7″ line. Drax The Destroyer will stop at nothing but to avenge the death of his family at the hands of the titan known as Thanos. The Guardians of the Galaxy 7″ scale comic book figures by Diamond Select are exclusive to Marvel Shop and Disney Store.
Diamond Select Toys are offering six new Guardians of the Galaxy figures this year. The exclusive figures are comic based that will only be available at Marvel Shop and Disney Store, which includes Star-Lord, Drax, Groot, and Gamora and Rocket Raccoon 2 pack. Due to the size and bulkiness of Groot, it made more financial sense that Rocket came with a less bulkier figure such as Gamora from a marketing standpoint. Of course, it make more sense for Rocket to be including with Groot, DST just couldn’t offer this due to the cost.
The comic shop figures based on the new upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 figures are Star-Lord and Drax, as these are based on the film.

Drax is based on his comic book appearance as featured in Marvel Comics Guardians of the Galaxy titles, and features a beautifully detailed sculpt. The figure is sculpted as he is shown in the comics, and comes packed with a muscular sculpt that’s ready to battle Thanos or any threat to the galaxy. He is sculpted in his most recent comic book appearance, with green skin and red tattoos, black pants with a silver belt, knee guards, wrist guards and gloves, and a silver padding on both sides of his upper knees with dark red lines. There is a grey wash over the silver guards and armor including the boots. His head sculpt is nicely done with a half head, yellow eyes, with red deco around them.
In each of the Guardians of the Galaxy figures that is exclusively available on Marvel Shop and Disney Store, there is a environment base that interlocks to form a larger base so each of the five figures can stand on it once its together. This section of the diorama comes with Drax, and has a stone flooring with rocks underneath and vines coming out from the ground. The base in painted with a silver object on the side with a brown wash over it that makes it look dirty and worn. The rocks however are painted in blue with a brown wash over it. This is one solid piece that comes with three connectors that attach to other three bases on the sides.
The figure comes fully articulated as what you would expect from Marvel Select. This includes a ball jointed neck, ball hinged shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel-hinge wrists, ball jointed torso, swivel-hinged hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, and hinged rocker ankles.
Included with Drax is a trench knife with spiked knuckle guard, and a large energy axe that can fit in both hands. The accessories are nicely detailed and sculpted and makes a great addition to Drax.
