Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon are based on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 live-action film, and are sculpted in their movie accurate costumes. Star-Lord is sculpted in his red and brown Ravengers leather jacket, with gold zippers, buttons, and a symbol on the upper left part of the front. The jacket realistic folds, and has some textures to the design including on the forearms and brown areas. On his right shoulder is a shoulder guard, with three tiny gold buttons. The undershirt is painted in a light blue with white and black text and a design, and there is a silver belt, and dark red pants with brown and silver holsters for the twin blasters (which there is only one blaster included with this figure). The pants have a nicely detailed pattern and texture to it, and the boots are painted in brown and black, with black straps over the brown parts of the boots. The hand sculpts are capable of holding a blaster on each, but since he only includes one blaster, you could always use the comic accurate Star-Lord figures blaster as an alternative. The head sculpt is masked, with the iconic silver, gold and red eye ball metallic design, which covers all of his facial details. What remains is a small part of the forehead, neck, and brown hair. The entire body is also covered in a light wash, which includes the jacket, shirt, pants, boots, and gloves on the hands.
The articulation is what you would come to expect, which includes a ball hinged neck, ball jointed chest, ball hinged shoulders, swivel hinged elbows, swivel wrists, waist rotation, swivel hinged hips, double jointed knees, and rocker ankles.
Rocket Raccoon is sculpted in his blue, brown and silver outfit, and this alien species resembles an Earth raccoon, although you never want to ever point that out to him. The outfit is painted in a dark blue, with brown straps and silver belt buckles sculpted over it, including a brown belt with pouches, with black straps over the punches, and silver belt buckles. The skin has a texture to it to resemble fur, and is painted in a dark brown, with the facial details and tail painted in light and dark brown, with some light grey deco on the head. The mouth is sculpted in an open position, and the jaw is non-articulated. Sculpted over the knees are brown pads, and there are brown stripes going down the pants as part of the design. Sculpted to his back is a jetpack, which is painted in a dark blue, silver, and light blue orb shaped piece.
Included with Rocket and two tiny blasters that are different than each other, and are painted in silver, gold, blue and red. The articulation includes a ball hinged neck, ball jointed chest, ball hinged shoulders, swivel hinged elbows, swivel wrists, swivel hinged hips, swivel hinged knees, swivel calves, and hinged ankles.
Overall, Star-Lord and Rocket are excellent figures, and great additions to the Marvel Select line. Make sure to also look for Drax and Groot, that are also just released.
